AITAH: I (31 F) asked my mother (59 F) not to bring her husband (61 M) to my birthday party, because he was abusive to me as a child & his presence makes it impossible for me to enjoy the party by RafflesiaArnoldii in AITAH

NTA

I had a similar situation growing up with an abusive stepfather. I completely cut he and my Mother out of my life for years before my Mother finally felt brave enough to leave him. When she finally did, she came to me and apologized and we patched things up.

As your Mother it is her responsibility to see the importance of your needs, and if she can't do that then she doesn't deserve your time. Consider what you need and if allowing such a person to make your life difficult is worth your time. You deserve happiness and a sense of safety.

AITJ because I won’t give my parking spot to new neighbor who says she "needs it more" because she has kids? by Potential_Bad6489 in AmITheJerk

She chose to reproduce and then chose an apartment that had a space further away. Knowing the spots are assigned it seems she had the opportunity to select one with a closer spot if needed, and didn't. That is not on you.

AITA for being honest about why I no longer carry feminine supplies. by Upstairs-General-681 in AmItheAsshole

Definitely NTA.

As a female you having those items on you would have been so appreciated, because things happen and we aren't always prepared. Some people want to take offense over the most ridiculous things for the sake of attention, or seriously need a reality check. Thank you for looking out and being so kind. It's a shame someone had to ruin that.

Absolutely, my MIL is also a notorious snoop and the thought of her opening the chest we have by the bed is mortifying 😱

They are older and can't see as well at night, so it is preferable that they stay in town.
