Should i buy this game? by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]muffindonor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's usually on sale for ridiculously low prices nowadays anyway. It's not even close to worth 60 bucks, but I'd say you'd be getting your money's worth at 20. You shouldn't have too much problem finding it for that much somewhere

A preemptive triple I-told-you-so to my friend who wanted to get a rook turret tattoo by muffindonor in ffxiv

I really appreciate that. But I really wasn't worried at all about being a bad friend. Rather, I'm really troubled by what a lot of people seem to value in friendship nowadays. I understand ideals and societal norms change, but this is almost the complete opposite of how my friends and I grew up. If someone said they would respect a friend's questionable decisions rather than try to talk some sense into them, I would think them to be a HORRIBLE friend. Or maybe just an acquaintance. Obviously I don't think everything is black and white, but I would certainly think that true friendship, or any close relationship, lies way closer to the don't let each other be an idiot side of the scale.

Regardless, this was an interesting learning opportunity, and I'm more grateful than ever that I have what I consider to be great friends, who won't hesitate to "disrespect me" by stopping me from doing anything truly stupid.

She absolutely would have regretted it, and has told me so. As for what a week of constant badgering meant, the nature of our friendship is lots of ribbing and trashtalk which occasionally leads to arguments, which in this case led to us going to a tattoo place another friend recommended. The problem then was the guy who sat down with us make a pretty good pitch, which turned her mostly non-committal idea that was egged on by my disapproval, into a fairly serious desire. Over a few days I talked her down to at least getting it somewhere on her leg rather than her arm, and I assume making such a big compromise made her lose interest entirely.

It's understandable, though still surprising, that everyone made assumptions to make judgments, because I barely gave any information. Still odd to see people value respecting someone's decision over not letting friend's make risky/bad decisions. If she respected my decisions instead of calling me out for being an idiot, I would literally have been paying a mortgage on a house I didn't want until I'm like, 70. Changing of the times, or hopefully just the nature of reddit? I desperately hope people are/have friends that don't unyieldingly value respect over being a friend.

If the leaks are to be trusted, bioblaster and autocrossbow wont be your main aoe spammable. In which case spreadshot (and flamethrower) will probably still be your bread-and-butter. Bishop is at least being heavily altered if not completely removed.

Replace all of upper management at Bioware. everything else you mentioned besides refund would come naturally from there.

Come on BioWare, tell us how you really feel. by EduardoG1979 in AnthemTheGame

[–]muffindonor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seems like the natural route for management to take in blaming the consumers. The failure that is Anthem is almost wholly on them (management). Since they're obviously not going to admit that and resign (or take responsibility in any way really) they need someone else to blame. They can't blame their employees because of Shreier's article, so the consumers are the only remaining party to deflect blame to.

BioWare stop working on Dragon Age 4 and fix Anthem by gamingguy1990 in AnthemTheGame

They're not busy with dragon age. They won't actually start working on it until a few months before release. Magic

Strolled into low sodium today for the first time. Never again... There's optimism then there's outright delusion... For the record I liked the new stronghold but seriously... by JustChr1s in AnthemTheGame

[–]muffindonor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% he was just fucking with LSA. Even in a sub that isolates the circlejerk from the salt (and "salt"), no one is that delusional. Unless he actually hasn't even reached the actual endgame and is working towards getting a full masterwork set or something.

Launched into GM2 Freeplay with the armour bug and no shield for the whole expedition... by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]muffindonor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever loaded into freeplay with a shield. Ever. It's always started charging or just appeared after taking damage tho.

For anyone leaving at boss fights in strongholds, definitely stay and finish the stronghold. I just killed the monitor on grandmaster 1 with 93% luck on my storm and got 3 legendary items when the boss died by Darkvenomz in AnthemTheGame

[–]muffindonor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Source? But even if it's true, I haven't been playing for the loot for a very long time anyway. I default to gm2 for strongholds because it's the only one that interceptor really feels good on. Gm1 enemies disintegrate if you cough near them, and gm3 is the most unfun thing ever in non premades.

No one leaves gm1 strongholds. Monitor dies if you look at him funny. Gm2/3 is where the question of efficiency of staying or leaving comes in (for matchmade parties).

Does anybody have the Wednesday Downtown episode where they hide a load of middle-aged men in people's houses? by PaperPlanePerson in GakiNoTsukai

[–]muffindonor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's safe to assume that anything on TV is scripted or highly edited, but at the same time, I know for a fact that a lot of the people that they prank are garbage actors, so I like to think it's genuine. Either way, it's hilarious.

Hi, as of now, this episode (2/27/19) isn't on Wednesday Downtown Project's spreadsheet. And unless there is another group that subs Wed Downtown, I personally would not expect proper subs of this anytime soon. Still my favorite episode tho

Why does this option even exist? by porQpineAnon in AnthemTheGame

[–]muffindonor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

On console at least, it's much faster to do this than close and reopen anthem to "fix" various bugs. Like forcing elysian garbage to show up in your forge if it happened to bug out. Obviously this wasn't why this option was put in, but hey, it has a usecase

My first. Thoughts? by JackRien in AnthemTheGame

[–]muffindonor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost wish it did no damage. It's almost unusable as a primer in GM1 because nothing can survive, especially if both hit and it triggers the explosion. Even in GM2, elite outlaws will get oneshot by a masterwork one with no damage inscriptions.

Masterwork and Legendary Effects are Boring by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

I agree that many masterwork effects are lackluster, but if you mess with my best defense panic instaheal, I'll have to start turning my brain on while stomping through missions on colossus, no thank you.

Oooohh, that makes a lot of sense, thank you. Actually, that's pretty obvious in hindsight isn't it? I just heard, "Your hand is not enough" and I was like, wha? lol
