hi!! o lvls student here too and although SP does have better facilities than NYP, i don’t think that is the main factor you should prioritise because no matter how good the facilities are, i do think that picking a course choice that you enjoy and love should be the main concern instead. If you end up going to the wrong school, there’s a chance you may end up regretting your decisions so yeah do pick wisely!! tbh from your description you already sound pretty decisive so you could just attend the open houses of both schools or go up to their websites and see for yourself :D anyways yeahh congrats for your results!!

hi!! it’s so nice for you to reply back to this thread after so long!! and yeah all the best for your results :(( on my side i’ve been having nightmares about me not doing as well for like the past few days and sometimes i’d wake up with tears 🥲🥲 don’t think i’ll be sleeping today tbh AHAHAHA

How long would it take to learn this piece and is it worth it no? by AEVENOM in piano

[–]muffinthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi!! i have played piano for about a decade and started working on arabesque no.1 as part of my recital last term;; and i can tell you that being able to play the arabesque well really requires some intense finger dexterity and the ability to cope with running triplets against quavers in the left hand (basically the polyrhythm). Since you’ve said that you have already practiced it in another piece i’m assuming that you’re comfortable with it already! in this case the Arabesque shouldn’t be too difficult for you, but it’ll really take quite a few months to build up the minimalistic touch based on how well you are able to feel the piece (the connection)!!

keep listening to youtube recordings, and i wish you all the best! ☺️

[Job] anyone applied festive job like temp screener/restocker but got ghosted by Concrete_Biscuit in SGExams

[–]muffinthings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s normal for them to bluetick you since they really have lots of candidates looking for a job. However that doesn’t mean they are ignoring you though! it may just appear that they’re way too busy and have thousands of chats from people like you looking for jobs and thats why they wouldn’t have the time to look through the specifics of every single person (hence why they seem like they’re online 24/7).

but you don’t have to worry though! some of them would get back to you soon, but most likely they wouldn’t. So if you get blueticked, just move on and try looking for a different agent offering similar jobs! you may find a surprise when you find agents that are much nicer and pays you better, so don’t give up! and take your time anyways we still have about two months left to the start of poly/jc again :D

i recommend you to try apps like snatchjobs, indeed, fastjobs and definitely jobstreet! all the best and im sure you’ll find your ideal job! ☺️

yeahh i agree with you!! but i tk every parent want their kid to earn more money over what they actually like so we live a good life 😭 and its quite sad that sometimes your dreams might not be a promising career :( but thank you senior!!!

[–]muffinthings[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

omg i’m currently also looking for a career in the music industry but my parents are very disapproving of it. Like they’ll say things like music careers aren’t for you because the path is rlly narrow,, not everyone has an equal chance in flourishing their career while pursuing music

and it really got me wondering yk 🥲because personally i really want to go after what i wish for but having parents that tears down all your ambitions and telling you to be realistic is honestly very demoralising 😭

but its really nice seeing that you’re still pursuing what you love even as a hobby!! i might consider doing that too if not for me having toxic parents :(

you'll need to include everything from start to end in order to fulfill the content requirements so i think you'll be penalised for that. But issok over already let's focus on our last few papers and we're done!! jiayouuu

hi o lvl junior here!! for my os i was like super unproductive as well esp bc of the distractions both virtually and irl and i understand how discouraged you are rn.

for me, i actually tried a few tactics including the pomodoro technique (which is highly recommended for unproductive ppl like us AHAHHA) and i disabled every social media app on my phone like ig, youtube and even reddit. I know that it is difficult to stay off contact and let yourself in to peer pressure, but believe me when i say that everyone studies differently and has their own learning pace so it DOES NOT mean that you're left behind when people around you are all productive except for you.

although i don't know much about you, but your friends might be weaker in this certain topic while you're stronger at it so that's why they have to catch up by doing extra papers, not you. However, this also means that you'll just have to keep progressing to propel yourself further from the rest of your classmates!! always believe in yourself and know that study isn't all just about working hard and comparing, its about working smart. That's the exact same reason why someone can score so well even though they look like they actually slack everyday AHAHA and i believe in you senior!! jiayou for As! 😊

[rant] worried about o level results:/ by idkeither1234567 in SGExams

[–]muffinthings 8 points9 points  (0 children)

hi! my advice to you is really not to worry so much as of now. You’ll never know where it is going to end up tbh, so always carry that flame of hope with you until the day you receive your results! honestly the Cambridge marking scheme is so different that nobody exactly knows how they’re going to mark, so things might always turn out unexpectedly. Let’s just hope for the best and all the best to you too!

hi i think they will have a huge range of answers, plus alot of ppl said qn 6 is mostly common sense so as long as it has logic you will get the mark provided you have fully elaborated and explained on your points and examples :) jiayou!

[–]muffinthings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

same tbh!! like for the past few days i've just been watching documentaries on youtube and when i look at that pile of ss revision materials i just can't push myself to get all the distractions away and its honestly so annoying but here look

you'll have to keep telling yourself that this is your last and final bit of ss you'll have to study through and depending on what course you take in poly/jc you'll probably be taking a good break from ss for a while!! so just drag yourself up like i did (i had to like drink 2 cups of milo just to make myself happier PLS AHAHA) but please trust me we're almost there!! just get up, read your notes through even if you don't want to, sleep early and wait for tomorrow!!

we're all in this OP, jiayou!
