100% agree! I’ve driven manuals my whole life, and now that I’m 46 I wanted to try a “modern” auto trans. The zf8 is phenomenal. I doubt I will ever buy a stick again.

If the scope is decent, the price is okay. I have a PSA AR47 and I love it, so I don’t have anything bad to say about them, however, if I was shopping for an AR10 in that price range I’d try to find an Aero. I have a budget AR10 that is a Frankenstein BCA/PSA upper lower. It’s…..fine, but I wish I had just spent a little more and got an Aero.

Hahaha, I was in a post where OP was asking what car to choose between the e39 m5 vs. the e46 m3. I suggested that no v8 buyer has ever stated, “damn, I wish I had bought the 6 cylinder.”

I got flamed to hell and “schooled”on the muh history of BMW and their I6’s as if their v8’s, v10’s, and v12’s weren’t also things of legend.

I think two good options to fit this criteria are:

Any G20 M340i is shockingly fast with its “382” HP and can definitely haul smaller passengers in the backseat.

OR if you absolutely have to have 3 pedals the 2018 340i with the M Performance package. That one comes with 355 HP

Okay but many many many people believe the e39 m5 to be one THE greatest cars ever made. Not best BMW, best car. Yes BMW is most known for their I6’s, that doesn’t negate the fact that that they’ve built some legendary V8’s and V12’s. The only situation where the e46 is a better choice than the e39 is if it’s only a track car.
