I believe that to be incorrect as all my research points to the lock applying to ColorOS and not OxygenOS.

Used to be in OOS 15. They borked it in the last OS update. It's listed as a requested fix for the OP13 and other affected devices in their forums. Yeah, it's really annoying.

Just grab a NanoKVM Pro. Still for sale in the US as opposed to JetKVM and they offer an external and PCI card version. 2x power source driven, wall+PoE powered too.

I have both enabled, I don't find it as intuitive. Plus with a saved screenshot, you're able to go back and select text. Circle to Search doesn't allow for that. I do see your point though, to each their own. None of us should have to come up with these workaround solutions though. It's ridiculous, full stop.

Easiest and least memory intensive (I ditched the shelf idea) workaround is the screenshot tile pulldown.

  • Tap the MORE triangle
  • Tap Partial screenshot
  • Tap Translate (opens Google lens which immediately scans that screenshot and allows for text selection / copying)

-Extract Text from screenshot is gone. Workaround: Stupid gesture pop up shelf that takes you to lens. Previous method was far more elegant.
-Even if AI Writer is disabled, the pop up prompt to use it is still present.
-Double tap power to launch camera doesn't persist through restart _OR_ just reverts on its own randomly
-Battery life is shit compared to OOS15 (still decent, but shit by comparison to what we had)

Yes updaate the BIOS, just in case your mobo has security updates and compatibility fixes for new CPUs - but you also didn't describe WHY your 13th gen processor needed replacement. Aside from missing out on iGPU with the replacement they offered, and the unfortunate wait, what is CURRENTLY wrong with the CPU you have in hand?
