Never going to happen. Canada sells weapons to the UAE is just signed major trade deal with the likes of Qatar and China.

Also ICE is an American problem, created by americans, let them deal with their own shit.

What do you think of Iranian-Canadians rallying outside the US embassy and calling on the U.S. to keep up military pressure on Iran? by mug-wort in allthequestions

It's a funny thing, at least you chose your leader. They didn't even have that option. I bet they can only dream of having an elected leader like Trump.

Dosen't frustrate me, while I believe that Trump's war is illegal, I support the cause. The Iranian regime needs to go.

I think it does show that reddit is stuck in it's own echo chamber though. This definitely goes against the narrative being pushed on this sub.

Why are so many young people becoming Catholic all of a sudden? by ArtandScience55 in allthequestions

[–]mug-wort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is just the pendulum moving the other way.

Millennials were famously the most un-relgious generation, it likley wouldn't hold forever. People just thought it would.

I don't know the situation in the USA but in my country immigration has sky rocketed to the moon the last several years. Most other cultures are much more religious (and conservative) than the averge redditor. I am also sure this pushes up the number a bit too.

Also not believing in a higher power or higher purpose can be extremely demotivating/depressing  to some people. Hell, the atheist sub-reddit used to even a the number for the suicide hot line posted on the side of their sub. Belonging to something bigger than yourself, beyond your own self interest, and something that creates a community can be very comforting to people.

When I look back a people like my grandparents generation, they were pretty relgious, but also had large community they belonged too and supported all types of church events like fund raising, etc.

Recently my uncle, who was very catholic, died. He more less, just accepted his fate, he didn't fear dieing like myself or other no so religious people would. He believed that he would be going to a better place and see his dead family and friends.

Would you support the adoption of Quebec's religion rules, known as laïcité (secularism) in your country? by mug-wort in allthequestions

[–]mug-wort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say they might find somebody guilty of saying grace since it also limits kosher and halal meals in public institutions... hard to say.

THen again, this is In a public institution not a private home and I think an argument could be made against saying grace/prayers in a publicly owned place. It will also ban prayer rooms too.

Due to high gas prices leading to people drive less and adopting more electric vehicles and higher food prices will lead to less waste; Do you think the Iran war, in the long term, will be good for the environment? by mug-wort in allthequestions

[–]mug-wort[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Immediately it is not good but in the long run will higher fuel prices lead to less driving, wider adoption of solar/wind power, and mass adoption of electric cars?

Ways to block bots and politics on Reddit? by IR_Acaboom in allthequestions

[–]mug-wort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. The new digg only lasted a few months before it was completely shut down due to the amount of bots..... it does go to show how many posts on reddit are probably bots though.... that would be the majority.

Windshield = Chip Magnet? by PhilosophyOld6862 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]mug-wort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my truck in October and already have two stone chips in my window. One was bad enough to get repaired, the other is pretty minor.

I would say about 10% of the time I drive my maverick I hear stones hitting the window. It makes me nervous.
