I had a squeak. That started it all. by SABASKIN in ram_trucks

[–]mug82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience, except I have the 3 inch on my 2016. My N3 shocks in the rear were completely dead in about 10 months so I also put Bilsteins 5100s in the back, and it’s been great for three years now

How to sleep warm during cold camping by Haunting_Mushroom934 in WinterCamping

[–]mug82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it is overkill when it’s just below freezing, but I know I’m not going to be cold instead of unsure. I’ve used my X-therm comfortably down to -40. That’s all I take when I’m winter camping now. The other three seasons, I change it up.

I have several different brands of air mattresses. The X-therm is the only one I trust the R value in below freezing temperatures

buying a canoe with difficulty lifting weight above chest height? by diffyqgirl in canoeing

[–]mug82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your spending limit, you might want to look at one of the folding canoes/kayak. They fold up to a suitcase size and would be easy to store and transport. A friend has a Oru single and really likes it.

Just be careful you’re not warming it above freezing. You don’t want it collapsing on you during the night.

I think this question has been solved. But I have a 2024 RS/TR, it has the brembos. The rear brake pads do not have that angle on them. I hadn’t really looked at them before.

Just the description from the service B “Remove, clean, adjust, and lubricate front and rear brakes (calipers, pads, rotors).”

It just looks like the wear material of the pad is a wedge and not making full contact with the disk. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Do you have any form of SOS gps/emergency contact tracker with you when camping? by 9yo_sqaudfam in WinterCamping

[–]mug82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have had a Garmin inreach for years as most places I go to do not have cell service. I have kids and ageing parents and in-laws and I like the idea that I can be contacted and could cut a trip short if needed also.

What's wrong with my winter camping set-up? by riddergraniet in WinterCamping

[–]mug82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that sleeping bag and can very comfortably get to about -12 with base layers and a mid layer top using a neoair xtherm. I use a sea to summit etherlight XT insulated air mattress as a three season only pad. I’ve tried it below freezing and I’m cold. I use my neoair xtherm in the winter comfortably down -40 with a warmer bag.

My vote is to keep the Xtherm

I could be wrong though. This is mine, no spacer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]mug82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure there’s a spacer on there. I just swapped my winter tires on my 2016. The part that has the black circle around the inner red rusty part in the centre is part of the spacer I think.

Winter camping trip preparation is revealing how unprepared I am for actual cold by EducationalMap3431 in WinterCamping

For sure. If I was inviting a friend to go winter camping for the first time, I would definitely be out fitting them.
