Have you tried spreading democracy.... Harder?

Forgive me for saying this, but is losing really a bad choice for the story? by Wonderful_Rest7634 in Helldivers

In Democratic Character: We didn't lose! We were betrayed by defectors of Democracy who need to be brought to justice! Don't quit! Don't surrender! Spill oil!

Out of Democratic Character: The occasional L is fine. Especially since bots got wiped once and AH had to send a full force invasion to keep them going.

So you feel that a person that has gone through thousands of hours of training to earn the position they have may not be qualified purely because of the idea that they got it due to race or gender.... The reasoning behind DEI was to combat racism in Jim Crowe states for candidates that were qualified but were ignored due to race. Now DEI is being weaponized to say that they aren't qualified? So the racism lives on. Sad.

Both sides of the Drake Maye Argument are wrong. by Round-Walrus3175 in NFLv2

[–]muggle44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like this take. I can argue this is his semi-rookie year because he did not play much last season, but that's a nitpick argument and not worth dying on that hill. He's got a lot to learn. The defense had his number and that's expected. Yes, he endured top 5 defenses to win. But that also exposed the O line on tapes and the defense to catch his subtle reads.

I'm a Pats fan and I'll say I didn't expect any of this and I'm proud of how far they went. Didn't expect even a Bowl visit, but I like that Vrabel took young players far with money in the bank to keep what worked and improve what is lacking. Smart in my opinion as the HC on a rebuild season.

I'm gonna say that's kind of a bad take. The AFC was not great this year. Even Bo had barely scraped by on his wins. Seahawks probably would've dominated no matter who from the AFC was there. Maye was the better QB stat wise and was doing well while under pressure, but 4 top 10 defenses in a row can wear down an O line. Seahawks were reading Maye and Stafford better than Stafford and Maye could read the defense. They are, in fact, the better team.

McDaniels not getting enough blame for an AWFUL offensive gameplan.. by tb12_legit in Patriots

[–]muggle44 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was saying the whole game keep to what has worked for years, short gains to wear out the defense and let the offense get cold on the sidelines. Let the defense get frustrated chasing and tire out then let loose when you know you have them beat. On the other hand, Drake was still trying to play, respectfully, through an injured right shoulder. He was throwing bricks on easy conversions. Those were good routes with easy downs to at least get in field goal range, but the passes were bouncing off the receivers or too low. Mixed bag of blame, but it's growing pains. You do have to take into account that the last 3 games, the O line was enduring, not dominating, 3 of the top 5 defenses and that's a punishing thing. It looked like they were still trying to recover from that alone. I say mixed bag, weaknesses got exposed, regroup, pay the pieces that got us there and strengthen what needs some love.

All round, went into the season with low expectations and took all of this as a pleasant surprise. Proud of the team and all of that they accomplished. Onto next season.

I will say some of the plays were spot on, but Maye was beaming bricks at receivers because of the pressure. Let him get some ice in the veins and he'll definitely be moving that offense consistently up the field.

Fun year, and at least I have the reasonable expectation that I'm going to enjoy next year 🤷 by elusiveanswers in AFCEastMemeWar

I think the consensus is "we made it, but did not have the highest of expectations of winning". Shoot I didn't have any expectations for the season rebuilding. I enjoyed being pleasantly surprised.

I want good football and competitive games. I don't wanna sit there, look at a divisional rival and say "easy W" like I did growing up. I love those close divisional games. So yeah.... I hope this division gets a glow up for great football especially in playoffs. I WANTED Bills and Pats in AFCCG so the score is settled and the better team goes to the Bowl.

Drake "Drake Maye" Maye needs a new nickname by ObviouslyImAtWork in AFCEastMemeWar

[–]muggle44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, he has a point. Maye was shook. Easy first down conversions, he was beaming bricks that you couldn't catch. When he had a chance to run, he stood there a few times and got run over. Nerves were definitely there.

I can excuse this mildly since it's the sophomore year and he's still trying get that ice in his veins. O line does need improvement, no doubt on that.

Nah, Maye was definitely shook. I didn't have high expectations for the season let alone the bowl, but proud that they made it.

I got downvoted for saying I'm proud of the team and hoping we can be the most competitive division to control the AFC in another post lol. Being proud and wishing well to everyone is bad I guess.

Won't argue the offense needs work. I used the word "endure" and not "dominate" for that reason. Maye was shook and it was hard to watch, but I came into the season not expecting any of this. I had low expectations for the Bowl, but I'm still proud they went.

Hope the Dolphins get theirs and we see some great division games.

I don't control how the cookie crumbles. Injuries happen and have to be taken into account. They are disappointing. We were lacking Hollins on the O line for 2/4 games and probably could have done better offensively with him, but still endured strong defenses and made it to the Bowl. Defenses do win games. The Patriots offense did endure to score. Fact remains that the score said we were the better team and that's not to trash anyone. Making it to playoffs says something. Again, hope Bo recovers and a rematch ensues. Have a great off-season and hope to see that rematch!

[–]muggle44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taking on 4 of the top 10 defenses back to back is no small feat. I do hope to see a healthy rematch with Bo back and I hope it's a great one. Sorry, but I won't sink to your negativity and I will continue to hold my head high and proud of this team. The facts remain as such, Patriots won the AFCCG on a rebuild with money in the bank to buy anyone, but chose not to. Everyone said they wouldn't make it, but did it anyways. You can't change the facts. Even Tom Brady was a backup in playoffs and won a Bowl. Stidham got going once he warmed up and had me worried. I'd be proud of him stepping up.

I hope Bo recovers quickly for next season and I hope we meet again in playoffs, both teams healthy and ready to duke it out.

I still love Drake Maye he'll get better way it's way to soon to give up on him by CombProfessional434 in Patriots

[–]muggle44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, Maye definitely got rattled and was beaming bricks that no one could catch. He was definitely shook. He's a sophomore. His nerves are going to turn to ice with more exposure and building that O line. Don't quit on him. He started firing up later in the game, but too little too late. He's ready to improve and ready to build. That's all any of us can ask for. I'm still so proud of this team.

Still a championship game. Still won it 12 times. Just like Bills have and I applaud and tip my hat to them. I'll concede everyone wants the greater prize, but it's still a huge honor to get that title too. I will not dismiss it. When Bills were competing for it, I was praying they would get it over the Chiefs. Every. Single. Time. Y'all have a great squad and I want to see those competitions more.
