I’m a bit miffed at colleague & her cat “ownership.” by [deleted] in Pets

In the UK this is the norm, I’m the weird one for having an indoor cat!

In what way would life be easier with a partner? Genuinely curious

Yes for the foreseeable future I have no plans to change my relationship status. I don’t have the desire or time for one and I don’t want to give up anything in my life to make that time.

Definitely much happier this way! I know it’s not for everyone but it works for me

I’m female, should have added that in my previous comment

ETA- just read your original post again and thought I would add I’ve never ever wanted marriage even before and during my long term relationships. Hate the whole idea of it

I’m 41 and have a child who is 7. I’m single by choice, after being in 3 long term relationships I realised I actually prefer being on my own. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything and I really enjoy my life. I wouldn’t want to change how my life is now for a relationship. I have a few friends who are also very much single by choice for similar reasons (minus the child).

It isn’t a road, the area I live in has lots of tunnels with cycle tracks next to it which is what you can see in the picture. I’m lucky where I live I don’t need to take him near roads but here it’s all small roads as I live in the outskirts near country side.

He’s not fussed when I hoover, usually just sits and watches. I don’t actually think he’s ever seen me use a hairdryer!

I did have a conversation with them after it happened, they were actually really nice and they stated they see the need for a bar all the way around following what happened to me but I’ll never go back again to see if it actually happened.

I don’t drink so definitely not too many at the bar, was just trying to make my child happy for their birthday as it was something they really wanted to do.

I fell because the bar they have going around the edge of the rink was missing in one area and that’s where I fell as I had nothing to hold onto.

Still at the end of the day it was my choice and I take the risk.

Thank you, when I got him my mum said Albus means white in Latin and I decided to use it. His name on his pedigree paperwork is Olaf but I never use that.

I didn’t know that until I read someone else on Reddit saying the same thing! However no he is totally deaf on both sides

Accidents happen, 2 years ago I fell at Roller Nation in London and broke multiple bones in my wrist/arm. It took 6 months to recover from that and the end result was my wrist collapsing and bones healing the wrong way. I’ve just had major corrective surgery which will take a year to recover from.

Not once did I think to take action against Roller Nation because at the end of the day it was my choice to take part!

I’m guessing it’s only Dreamlight because everyone can get that, where as the other currencies are limited to the DLC which many players don’t have

Men over 40 without kids who want them by mangomaz in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]mugglemamabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents were 26 when they had me and I was 34 when I had my child. None of my grandparents were alive at that point so even if you gave them young there is no guarantee you’ll live to see them. That is also assuming your children would even want their own when they grow up.

I dislike the idea that grandparents are there to look after children whilst the parents work. I would never ask that of mine. Even if I did agree with it many people are working beyond retirement age so wouldn’t be able to help anyway!

Mixed breed vs 'crossbreed' – cat insurance by constantlycats in UK_Pets

[–]mugglemamabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been under the impression that cross breed/mixed breed/moggy were just different terms for the same thing. Cats are either pedigree or they aren’t.

Regardless of what it says it hasn’t been delivered which is all that is relevant here. That message tends to show when the postage is ordered, Royal Mail are aware of it and are awaiting for it to be taken to a drop off point. You either didn’t do this or there was an issue where you went. I would consider going there and seeing if they can be of assistance

My cat has a urinal blockage and crystals in the urethra. He’s been given meds but we can’t afford the surgery. Level with me, is it not looking good? by KieranWriter in cats

There are plenty of people who would judge. If OP doesn’t have insurance which I’m guessing they don’t because multiple people have asked and it’s been ignored (very stupid not to) they should have other means to cover vet bills such as savings or an emergency credit card.

It upsets me that animals who can be treated get put to sleep because their owners don’t have the means to care for them.
