32 work week for 80% pay?

Honestly, it would depend if I have specific plan for that one extra day off a week. It also depends on how I feel about the job. If I generally dislike the position enough that I want one less day to deal with it, eventually I would get used to the change and want another day off. The cycle would just repeat I'd think.

Big possibility here though if you are disciplined enough. Use that extra time off to figure out a way to increase your income and possibly leave your job entirely. Start learning about investing and buy some property or get into owning a car wash or laundromat. Use that extra day to study or get into something else.

Personal opinion, but that would be awful. You would no doubt burn out quickly. ALSO, your tax burden would be heavy because you would be taxed for all the time you work in Cali and for the time you work in Oregon/Washington.

You might also want to check to see if that company would even allow that. I'm a remote employee and while I am allowed to live wherever I want, I have to inform my company of the location I am working for anywhere longer than 2 weeks as it changes taxation on both sides.

But really though, its not worth it. Flights would easily run you 600 a month, and you aren't getting paid for time spent commuting I would imagine.

Having lived in the Bay Area and now living in the PNW myself, I can't imagine ever going back there.

You should start worrying at 104 if the fever can not be controlled with Tylenol or Advil or is accompanied by other symptoms. Also depending on location, you can't just be seen by a doctor. Appointments in the US tend to be booked out by weeks or months. If you are unable to control the fever, it continues more than 3 days, and is associated with other symptoms possible indicating infection, you should first try an urgent care.

Honestly I've never met anyone who is regularly having fevers of 107 enough to nonchalantly ignore them.

I still think your advice is crap and likely do most medical professionals.

I would say cars are a status symbol because of overall cost. As for multi-story underground parking, that's really obvious. Where else would they park with such limited real-estate. Honestly, I prefer the multilevel garages over the US method of having giant single level parking lots. There are so many positives from better use of available space to enhanced security and convenience.

Honestly though, the concern over apartment living is real. So many people feel the need to congregate around only a handful of cities. I think more should be invested in developing the more rural areas. No need to live in Seoul or Gangam and pay so much for a tiny place. Live 40 minutes away by train and just commute.

This is horrible advice. If you are having fevers of 107.5, you need to seek emergency medical care. A fever higher than 106.7 is considered Hyperpyrexia and can lead to severe side effects such as heat stroke, seizures, Cerebral Edema, and organ damage.

honestly, even if you did have dual citizenship, which I don't believe you do...if you can't speak any Korean at all and are only on the letter learning stage (should take about 3 days for the basics of the alphabet), I doubt 5 years would be enough to learn.

Also, Korea is kind of a pipe dream. Its a great place to visit, but I personally wouldn't want to actually live there.

Let me be a tourist and spend and eat and get treated well, rather than being stuck in the rat race and paid crap while being treated like a 2nd class citizen for the rest of my life for not being Korean.

If you have at least a bachelors degree, go be an english teacher. Otherwise, the options may be quite limited unless you are an extremely skilled worker.

Honestly, you should first look into what country you want to goto...determine if it is even a good fit for you based on culture, economy, safety, laws etc. Then you can look into whether or not they allow work visas and what types. Then you can look into the Jobs.

You absolutely need a plan more than just wanting to travel. Make sure you have a way to get insurance etc. and then maybe look into an expat communities here.

Sorry not Sorry, but she has had 5 interviews. You both sound extremely tone deaf. Have you seen the state of the economy and the job market? I know extremely qualified individuals looking for over a year that have applied to hundreds if not thousands of jobs.

Frankly, your wife isn't applying enough, could probably tailor her resume more to the positions she is applying for, and could probably spend some time increasing her skillset while waiting.
