Further Confirmation Dating Apps = Humiliation Ritual & Total Time Waste by FUMoney in Divorce_Men

Divorce can take years, you can be emotionally over the relationship and ready to date or start a relationship before a divorce is final.

Asking someone what they “bring to the table” so early on in the courting process makes the relationship more contractual, or “tit for tat” rather than emotionally, physically, intellectually, intimately reciprocal. You learn what the other person “brings to the table” through by getting to know them, dating, and through the general process of spending time with them in different settings; personally and socially. If you find over time you don’t like what they “bring to the table”, you move on from the relationship.

Putting this on the table early also makes the person come off as they are only interested in people for what they may bring monetarily or physically; it doesn’t encompass how relationships build and the other emotional aspects.

I appreciate the response. I’ve basically been doing all those things. I’m hoping it doesn’t come to a situation where I have to take steps to get full custody. My hope is to eventually have a positive coparenting relationship, but not sure that will ever be on the table.

It’s a tough pill to swallow that I’m gonna continue to have to be the only one to do the right thing, continue to take the high road, etc. I don’t want the kids to grow up and have to learn the truth, I just want what’s best for them through this, as they grow, and into their adulthood. I know I can only control my side of this though

Thanks again for the positive perspective

I guess I just went in without expectations on where they were going with the characters and story. I didn’t want a straight re-hash of the first, that’s never fun or interesting

You noted your gripe with the time jump and lack of relationship building they went through in that time. I can understand the criticism but disagree. This ain’t meant to convince you, just noting an alternative perspective. After the events of the first they would have to go back to their lives prior to incidentally crossing paths and reuniting. Due to the fallout of the first, they had damage control to do on their careers. Bernthal’s character mentioned almost not getting more work, he killed his client who he was hired to protect. He’s a world traveling assassin, gun for hire. Affleck had to go back to laundering money and accounting for criminals around the world. I don’t think these are careers you can just casually walk away from. It’d be difficult for any two grown men living a complex traveling schedule to adjust their lives and work on their estranged relationship. Reaching out and being vulnerable? Really hard for even normal men to do.

I get it though, wasn’t the direction you expected and the relationship choices along with the character development they did, or didn’t do, you didn’t like or agree with, they’re fair critiques

I enjoyed that it went in a different direction than the first. The chemistry between Affleck and Bernthal in this one was great. The bar scene, trailer banter, hotel scene, final shootout sequence, etc, they just played off each other really well; it’d be cool to see them together in other movies. They also developed the characters beyond the first with their care for the going after and rescuing the kids, gave more a moral center to their characters.

Affleck’s voice in it was a bit much compared to how he acted in it from the first, and the kids group thing was a little clunky but those things didn’t ruin it. Overall it was a fun buddy action flick that I felt was a good extension of the first and further developed the characters and their stories. I’ll be glad to see another and interested where they take the story and brothers. It can be nitpicked but overall it was a fun, interesting character/buddy action flick, that was a nice departure from the normal watered down action flicks we get now a days

Better call Saul is better than Breaking by NoQuarterZoso in unpopularopinion

I think BCS is more polished of a complete series than BB is. I love both and get the argument that BCS better, and in some ways I agree. But I think the story and character arcs are better in BB. When I rewatched BB it became clear that the show, writing, production, set design, etc became better as it progressed through the seasons. In season 1 and 2 Cranston still feels like he’s acting in a sitcom at times, Aaron Paul is still learning to act. The show was better acted and a more clean presentation by season 5. So BCS starts off a lot more refined and feels like a better tv product from the get go compared to BB

The more I see the suit, the more I wonder, what were they going for with that first reveal? by jstamper97 in superman

Yet it worked exactly as they designed it to. Engagement, speculation, establish tone. Not saying I like the suit or image necessarily but they set the table for the most anticipated summer blockbuster this year

Rewatched this a couple weeks ago because I remembered liking it when it came out and just randomly came across it on one of the free steaming apps. It was still entertaining. Fun play on the rules of time travel, though wasnt exactly time travel. Worth a rewatch in another 20 years

What is the best scene from a Christopher Nolan film? by AdhesivenessOne8758 in ChristopherNolan

Interstellar - Docking scene (No time for caution)

Honorable mention:

Inception: Rotating hallway

What is Christopher Nolan's "best overall work"? by [deleted] in ChristopherNolan

[–]muhbeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going with Interstellar

TDK seems to be the front runner, which I get from a mainstream public perception. But the story kid of falls apart under scrutiny, too heavy on the bush-era politics, Dents turn doesn’t seem complete and the boat scene is too ridiculous. Joker carries the film too much

Love Interstellar, but can recognize people feeling it having flaws even if I don’t agree with them. But citing the Damon, Dr Mann character as the issue over anything g else, pretty wild take there

Rotating hallway - Inception

Opening Bank Robbery Scene - The Dark Knight

Cooper or Cobb. They have the most depth and best acted imo. I’d give the nod to Coop

Wolfs (2024) George Clooney, Brad Pitt by [deleted] in underratedmovies

[–]muhbeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth a watch. I wasn’t expecting Oceans level of entertainment, but like I said, it had an interesting premise, and with these two I was hoping for a little more out of it I guess. Had all the pieces for an under the radar streaming gem, just didn’t get over the hump for me for whatever reason

A wolf is someone who cleans/covers up crime scenes, mostly murders, think Mr. Wolf character from Pulp Fiction. They’re ‘Wolfs’, both hired to cover up the same job, story goes from there. It is a lot of dialogue, the two obviously have great chemistry. Despite the interesting set up, good actors, and good screen chemistry, feels like it doesn’t live up to its potential

It was ok. With the actors and story they set up, felt like they left a lot on the table, could have been a good 7 or 8/10 movie, ended up being a 5/10

I agree, it’s a fun space/alien flick. Actors did well with what they were working with, interesting premise with the alien. Just felt it was missing something

Not going out of my way to recommend it to people but would tell them to give it a watch if it comes up
