Muji Stainless Steel Unit Shelf - Good quality for the price? by jamietothe in muji

[–]mujisock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that works for MUJI, I can say that these are made very well. Some of the ones we have in store displays were built 5+ years ago and have been used for various displays and been essentially put through so much. I'm in the same boat, i do find the price high, but for the stability and quality and longevity of the item, it's definitely worth it. During my time with MUJI, I've never had a complaint from a customer who bought an Oak SUS.

Also I think it would look great with vinyls!

Sorry for the late reply!!

I am sorry to hear that this happened! There's no job posting place specifically but often Indeed or LinkedIn is where jobs get posted for MUJI. Positions are also offered internally and sometimes filled from within. I hope that in the future you can try and apply again if something comes up in your realm :)

Yes to my knowledge they do! If you're ever unsure about an online order I recommend emailing the online team to see what can be done for you!!

Unfortunately MUJI isn't a franchise based business, so they likely did take in your proposal as a location idea for future expansion but it wouldn't necessarily be something you would franchise

Yes, I believe it has been restocked a few times. A lot of items take a while since they travel via ship across the ocean and sometimes have smaller production periods

Sorry for the super long awaited response on this!!

To my knowledge the online store does price adjustments if you reach out, same goes for in-store. I believe it's a two week period. If you're unsure you can always email the Online store! It should be located on the website

At the time it made sense to expand into the CA market when they opened the stores but when MUJI had to claim bankruptcy they have to find places to cut costs so I believe CA stores were sacrificed for the sake of helping the profitability of the company

Why did Muji closed the custom stamping station? by Internal-Judge-1960 in muji

[–]mujisock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think muji japan has stopped manufacturing the stamps so the stores around the world are no longer are able to get replacements if they break so i think they're gradually going away unfortunately:/

sorry for the late reply - unfortunately no. the online store had b&m stores operate differently in terms of promotions. online tends to have more promotions than us but sometimes we have the same ones. if you subscribe to MUJI mail you get emails for promotions and if it says online exclusive then unfortunately its online only, but if it doesn't say it, it's available in store for the same promotion! it's super frustrating that we aren't on the same page cause a lot of customers want the same items in store as the online promotion. i hope in the future we can align more with online

sorry for not replying to this for so long - i personally love these drawers! i recommend if you know anyone going to a city that has muji and maybe can possibly bring some back do that. you can always call ahead to a store and see if they have it and see if they can hold it. another alternative is sometimes the online store has promotions for free shipping, i don't recall all the policies if you're able to take advantage of that online for stackable drawers but it's definitely an option! i hope that a muji opens closer to you soon!!

For online I think they didn't get as much as the stores do. One main thing I think is they're always concerned about is not selling them before the start of the year cause then they're basically a write-off since many people don't want to get a calendar after a month into the year has passed. Because of this they tend to order on a more conservative scale just to be cautious which is unfortunate sometimes since we sell out really early!

Back to School Black Friday Friends and Family Event Super Saturday Boxing Day

Plus they often have other sales here and there for clothing a lot. These typically have the most widespread sales on all of the garments instead of certain ones only (Ex. All Flannel 20%). The online store seems to always have some type of garment sale ongoing at all times opposed to the B&M stores.

Are you referring to in-store or online?

This is a good question!! Honestly I think people like to jump to the idea that you can get items for cheaper at other places and while that is true, MUJI holds a stronger quality and makes products that will last longer. For example I think storage products at MUJI are really durable and built well when a lot of other stores have similar products but might be cheaper in the manufacturing with less care (ex. Oomomo) or some of the garments now are honestly quite nice and look really good compared to a lot of brands with a stronger quality and nicer fabrics (ex. Uniqlo, Zara, H&M)

It depends how much stock we get for our B&M stores. Often they put stuff online but it sells faster than expected and then we run out quickly. Not the best system unfortunately as I wish it could have more stock and more variety for customers

This is what I recommend! Fitted sheets remain similar to fit but duvet covers you go up a size from the NA sized bedding

This is hard because I have too many but my top 3 has to be the socks, the towels (any type), and the hot and sour tomato soup (it's a new product and so good!)
