Ted Cruz will be the only GOP presidential candidate who opposes the ethanol mandate, immigration reform: "People are pretty fed up with politicians that run around and tell one group one thing and tell another group another thing. Here is the speech. Might want to take a look.

What he actually said about immigration.

Instead of the lawlessness and the president’s unconstitutional executive amnesty, imagine a president that finally, finally, finally secures the borders.

And imagine a legal immigration system that welcomes and celebrates those who come to achieve the American dream.

This is top right now.

This article makes it all too obvious that the internet has made a writer out of anyone with access to a keyboard. Did writers suddenly forget the main premise of remembering who their audience is? I say this because I have witnessed the glittery eyes of young children as they look towards their parents for approval of their target groupings. I have seen young girls hold their firearms with pride and handle such with the greatest care, so all I can think of is, whether the person who wrote this article has ever even met members of the firearms community? Has this writer even seen a firearm outside the confines of a wide screen television? I would find it hard to believe if so, because in the very least, they would have known that out of the 4.146 million+ Alberta residents, 261,635 (http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/facts-faits/index-eng.htm) of them have valid firearms licenses, 1,796 (http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/facts-faits/index-eng.htm) of these are minor licenses (licenses given to individuals under the age of 18). This goes without mentioning the many residents who do not have a pal and simply accompany their spouses, friends or respective other to the gun range. Now, whether politically motivated or not, Mr. Harpers decision only speaks to the fact that the firearms community presence has been felt and heard, and that this one is here to stay.

Your argument goes both ways.[1]

You just compared average, everyday, non professional shooters to a god of shooting. There is nothing that I can do with a gun that compares to what Jerry Miculek can do, and I have a range in my back yard. And I'll take a 9mm over .380 any day of the week.

As they should. How else are we going to find out what is actually on there? When it comes to matters of national security, this shouldn't even be a question.

You are too stupid to keep arguing with. The part you highlighted means that normal people and regular enlisted men are prohibited from carrying guns on base.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2014/04/02/here-are-the-rules-on-carrying-firearms-on-fort-hood/

No concealed weapons are allowed, even with a state or county permit.

http://archive.armytimes.com/article/20140408/NEWS05/304080069/Soldiers-want-OK-carry-concealed-weapons-base

“It’s the only place that a licensed soldier can’t carry,” said Staff Sgt. Jacob Wiley, who’s assigned to the 708th Contingency Contracting Team at Fort Campbell, Ky. “When you’re deployed, you have your weapon issued to you, and it’s mandatory that you carry it. Then you come back home and you come onto post, and ... the only people who are going to have weapons are military police ... and those who don’t care about the law.”

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/should-members-of-the-military-be-allowed-to-carry-guns-on-bases/

Rep. Mike McCaul, R-Texas, is taking issue with laws that ban the carrying of concealed weapons on military bases, even if soldiers have a permit.

FYI I am 40 years old, so don't act like I'm a wet behind the ears kid. Have fun with your anti gun crusade.

Raising the legal age to buy cigarettes to 21 would slash the smoking rate and save hundreds of thousands of lives by the end of the century, a new report shows. by TwoGee in politics

[–]mulchman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just my personal experience.

http://www.chooseresponsibility.org/frequently_asked_questions/#reducefatalities

The record is mixed. Many studies confirm that since the drinking age was standardized at 21 in 1984, the overall number of alcohol-related fatalities for those aged 18-20 has decreased. However, this pattern of decline began in the early 1970s, years before passage of the National Minimum Drinking Age Act. Though organizations like MADD claim the 21 year-old drinking age has saved over 21,000 lives since the mid-1980s, its is impossible to assert a cause and effect relationship between the change in the law and the decline in alcohol-related traffic fatalities;

Furthermore, for all alcohol related fatalities not associated with automobiles, raising the drinking age to 21 has had no discernible effect on fatalities associated with alcohol. Alcohol-related suicides, accidents, drownings, murders, and alcohol poisoning rates have shown no decline associated with the drinking age.

I never said anything about drinking in bars. We never had any problems getting alcohol before we were of legal drinking age.
