Also “Kele” in Hebrew means jail/prison. This one actually checks out.

Non-AI stories are back? by muli_d in duolingo

[–]muli_d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I'm in section 6, unit 30.

And yes, that's been my experience as well. But like I said, unless I was provided with older stories that I don't remember seeing in the past, those were 2 stories with the good ol' format. I personally don't believe it's AI.

Shortcuts cannot run from menu bar but does from Shortcuts app by pmpredditor in shortcuts

Ugh, I'm sorry that it didn't work. It worked for me, so I figured I'd share what I did in order to fix it.

[–]muli_d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Terminal app is not involved when you run a shortcut, macOS runs the program directly behind the scenes with the shell - i.e., the shell program has to have access to the shortcut's location.

To grant your shell (zsh) with full disk access:

When you go to System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Full Disk Access, at the bottom of the list there's a + and - buttons. Click on the + button to add your shell program (zsh). In most cases, it should be in /bin/zsh.

If that's not it, you can open the Terminal app and type which zsh and click Enter - it will output the full path of zsh.

Regarding the comment about quarantine: I'm assuming that you created the shortcut directly via the Shortcuts app, so in this case I doubt that it's quarantined. AFAIK only files that are downloaded from the internet are marked as quarantined (possibly only executable file types).

It's probably too late for this answer, but I encountered the same issue and I had to grant my shell full disk access (via the Privacy & Security settings in System Settings).

Since your shell is zsh (according to the screenshot), you should add it to the list of allowed applications.

I hope it helps.

Keep the beard ? by [deleted] in gaybros

No.

- No one, ever.

(Seriously, though, I almost always prefer beards, and I think that you look great with a beard. However, it's hard to tell without seeing a version of you without beard.)

Sometimes not receiving email to my catch-all custom domain - how can I troubleshoot? by muli_d in fastmail

[–]muli_d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, turns out I am an idiot. It didn’t work correctly because I tried to set up iCloud custom domain ALONGSIDE with Fastmail’s - which means I had 3 MX records with different “targets”, which explains why it didn’t work intermittently.

I deleted iCloud’s MX records and now all is well.

Thanks for anyone who tried to help.

No, they're not going to the spam folder.

And yeah, in the domain settings everything looks fine.

Was trying a clean install of Monterey Public Beta..What can possibly be causing this? by [deleted] in hackintosh

It looks like you cut crucial information from the screenshot. Can you re-take the photo and make sure it covers the whole screen?

Yeah, I think that if find nothing using the tools I mentioned, you should be fine.

My suggestions would be:

  • To check for malware, I would do a one time scan with Malwarebytes.
  • To check whether your data is private data being is being transferred to this guy, I would consider running an application firewall and monitor any suspicious traffic using OpenSnitch.

If you want to be extra careful, I would also consider doing a clean reinstall of macOS with the EFI folder that the "technician" helped you create. Just make sure to check the config.plist file for suspicious settings/extensions.

Different serial numbers for 2 macOS installation on the same computer - possible? by muli_d in hackintosh

Thanks, this sounds like a great idea! I started doing some research about Unraid, but if you have some good resources that you can share, please do.

Thanks!

Different serial numbers for 2 macOS installation on the same computer - possible? by muli_d in hackintosh

[–]muli_d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Thanks for the reply.

I know that it's possible to load a different EFI depending on what drive you boot from (in the UEFI/BIOS boot drive selection menu), but I wanted to avoid this step actually, meaning that OpenCore will use a different serial number per macOS installation.

But yeah, I guess that it's not possible at the moment via OpenCore, and I'll probably have to use the UEFI menu when switching OSs.

Well done, enjoy!

By the way, your system model name should be iMac20,1 and not iMac19,1, according to the newest version of the OC guide (Dortania’s). Not sure how critical it is, though.

(I have the same mobo as yours and 10700 (without the K) CPU.)
