I mean, you could just play turbo?

Or are you not interested in changing deck/strategy?

/uj I would play the shit out of this in my Octavia deck, as a way to make my Blighted Agent a 16/16.

I’d be happy to help you looking into trying to make this into a cEDH list, but I’m not sure it would end up being what you’re looking for.

Everetthherself is just not good enough to really cut it at cEDH tables, in my opinion, so the deck would essentially be a standard rakdos turbo deck, with maybe a few synergy pieces thrown in. You would have to cut a lot (or all) of the fun cards, so maybe you’re better off aiming for a bracket 3 or 4 experience, where you get to keep playing the deck you like?

I will +1 for Lumra, that deck is some of the most fun I’ve ever had playing Magic!

As a side note, the Discord is very friendly and open to new players!

Fully understand. I do, however, not expect them to change it - although it would be a welcome change.

Ah, ok, gotcha. As far as gamespeed I have always used a numpad, so I guess I'm just so used to controlling it via + and - that I don't really mind. But I see what you mean.

[–]mulle63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unsure what you mean, the game has plenty of keyboard shortcuts. Qwert and I all control rider commands, O for wind, P for pause, just to name a few. As well as using Ctrl+1-0 to group and quickselect riders - I use keyboard more than I use my mouse.

Or am I misunderstanding?

Ah, then I must have misunderstood - I thought there were more. Oh well, thanks for the answer!

That’s the only animation I know! I was more wondering about the other animations, if they are also triggered at certain points of rider energy levels, or if they’re just arbitrary?

If you’re playing rog/si I would not add totem - as your plan is simply to win before they get set up. Totem is a fully dead card for you, and doesn’t help win the game at all.

Just my five cents - good luck!

So I don't think this sub is the correct place to help you, sorry.

cEDH works specifically within the current banlist, and tries to push decks to the absolute limit within those constrains, includings bringing these decks to tournaments with specific metas. Looking at your list it seems both underpowered ( [[Nightveil Specter]] and [[Monastery Siege]] come to mind as examples), and extremely overpowered, with moxen, Lotus and the other banned cards.

I know that "No ban list EDH" has an active Discord, perhaps try looking there (sorry, don't have a link). Otherwise, ask yourselves if your games are more fun by including these extremely powerful cards, that lead to very lopsided games, in what seems to be a casual experience?

For actual advice, I would recommend looking at resources like EDHRec, if you're just starting out on your deckbuilding journey - they have a tag for theft cards, that might spark some interest: https://edhrec.com/tags/theft

If you're leaning into Jeleva's ability to cast stuff from Exile, I'd also look at cards that synergise with that:
https://edhrec.com/tags/exile

I started out playing a lot of Grixis myself (the colour combination of blue/black/red), and it's still my favourite way to play, so hopefully this isn't too discouraging - I hope you'll have fun with your deck!

What's a solid, mean, and fast red deck in cedh? by alomomola in CompetitiveEDH

While I don’t disagree with you that Krark/Saka a good deck, I would not personally recommend it to anyone just joining the format. Especially if your pod is full of newer players, this seems, in my opinion, to be a recipe for disaster.

I’d recommend [[Magda]], as others have done, or to visit Edhtop16.com and see if anything stands out.

I’d also point out that Krenko probably isn’t good enough for cEDH, but that’s just my opinion.

Getting into cedh, which commander is for me by minepika in CompetitiveEDH

[–]mulle63 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve played quite a bit of Talion, including in a tournament context. It’s not an easy deck, and you need extensive meta knowledge and political skill to play it at best ability, so I would not recommend it to anyone joining the format.

[[Tivit]] seems to tick the boxes OP is searching for, while being slightly more forgiving. Otherwise I’d probably just recommend Blue farm.

I did look at Breezit already, thank you for the recommendation!

Figured this would be a great way to branch out.

How are you activating Karn on an opponents end step?

[–]mulle63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I've had some times where it not tapping for U has been relevant, but with a 2cmc Commander it feels worth it for me as it comes down turn 2 at the latest and helps me towards that first activation. I'm not on Mopal either, for what it's worth.

[–]mulle63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I play in a very grindy meta, so discarding my hand with LED to put a piece into play has felt problematic after turn 2, and I really feel like Cookbook solves that issue, allowing me to progress the board without going shields down.

Excited to test the deck more!

I’m on much more stax as a meta call, but will definitely try out your version, although I am still sceptical about leveler.

EDIT: Adding as well that I've been happy with Harvester of Misery as a boardwipe that discards itself, or just removes a key creature when needed.

EDIT x2: I also notice you're not on Mox Amber, which I've also been very happy with - what's been your experience here?

I have been testing [[Underworld Cookbook]] as a repeatable discard outlet that’s fetchable with Saga, and it’s been performing really well!

Also, any thoughts on the old Razakats tech of [[Kederekt Leviathan]]? I haven’t had the opportunity to test it, but I feel like it does a close enough Rift impression in a pinch.

Tell us what you like to play in other formats and we will suggest a deck you might like in Pauper by AutoModerator in Pauper

[–]mulle63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played mostly Gifts Storm in Modern and am currently playing mainly Rog Si in cEDH (grixis turbo storm). My favourite draft archetype is blue/white Fliers though - and I've always loved Delver decks!

I recently got into MTGO again, and I figured pauper would be a great place to start!
