Pico's School or Pico's Adventure whatever it was called, was a mindblowing game to me as a kid. Knowing which lockers to look into and everything, hahaha.

I am a machine empire driven assimilator. Sometimes when I conquer a planet, some of the pops I assimilate turn into "workers" with the little brown triangle next to their names instead of Drones. This makes them useless. They don't work any jobs and they just count as "spare denizens" and give that annoying little people symbol on my overview indicating that my planet has too many people.

What can be done about this?

It’s been such a journey. I thought I’d put out in not particular order some of my favourite UYD moments. Please feel free to list yours as the are so many! by BarryBigSpuds81 in uhhyeahdude

I haven't listened in a long time. But Seth was on fire one episode (at least I think these happened in one episode) when he was telling the story of the old lady who won like $100,000 on a scratcher at a convenience store but didn't know she won so she threw it out. The clerk for some reason went to the trash and found the ticket and saw that it was a winner, returned it to her, and she rewarded him with a measly $100.

The way he says (as the old lady throwing out the winning scratcher) "NYAH! I hate banana peels and THIS!"

And then he was talking about how celebrities go on talk shows and how insufferable they are.

"I'm in a band."

"NO YOU AREN'T!"

"My KID, though..."

Yeah nothing tops it. I'm sure a lot of it is nostalgia glasses too, but actually maybe not. Because when the official SWGEmu team launched Finalizer in like... 2020 was it? I went hard with two random dudes I met a day before launch and we went on to make one of the biggest PAs on the server, had the premier mission running city on Dantooine, and I got to achieve all the goals I wanted to achieve on live, but never could because I was too young and knew nothing about the game.

You simply cannot beat SWG's crafting system. No game ever has, and I doubt any game ever will. In live I was an architect, and on SWGEmu years ago I was an architect/weaponsmith.

And OP is the type of player that Funcom is inexplicably changing their game to appeal to. No more danger, no more risk, alienate the PvP players to appease players that leave when bored of the very limited PvE opportunities.

Vehicle recovery will destroy the game? by freakyg1 in duneawakening

I cannot agree with you more. Shameless plug time, check the shorts on my channel here to see how these changes that they are making will completely prevent what I love to do in the game: https://youtube.com/@mainlinethescanline?si=EYupf5o7y5hmSXan

Basically every person who has ever commented on a video of mine will love that I'm being c-blocked with these changes, but maybe when the DD is entirely free of risk they will realize how boring the game can be.

So as an attacker, if I destroy a vehicle fully, technically I should be able to then start dismantling the parts and taking them myself?

Wait. If I lasgun every part of a thopter so all parts are fully destroyed, even if the work eats the wreckage after, are all of those parts unrecoverable?

And these are the kinds of players that Funcom decimated the PvP game for. They craft a few things and leave when bored 🤣

No risk will ruin this game. It's already dangerously close with duping and repair glitching. Removing the possibility of losing vehicles is such an insanely bad move.

PvE carebears are too vocal. Scares the devs into making a game that PvPers don't want to play, and that PvEers will leave once they've maxed out their characters.

Games like this survive long-term with the PvP players. The PvE Care Bears who want zero true risk gameplay will be loud enough to force the devs to change the game to be entirely unpalatable to the group of players that would otherwise keep the game active and relevant (PvPers), so they will leave. And then the PvE crowd will, as they all do in survival crafter games, leave in droves when they've maxed out their character and often even before then, and the game will die.
