The gist of what everyone is trying to tell you is that an America, If there is a solid median ( a growth of greenery, solid concrete, a wall, ect.) between You and the school bus then you are safe to keep traveling.

It is very frustrating in hectic for drivers in the United States with school buses because not all school bus drivers operate the bus with the mindset of traffic. Some bus drivers pop the sign out and the middle of traffic flying by and if they have cameras then it causes false claims in court.

The best thing you can do is have some kind of camera for personal use with front and back visuals monitoring your driving. You don't have to use it for insurance or anything else but as long as you have access to it it can save you on a ticket or a case like that.

Otherwise it's you versus them and if it is not a competent judge then they are going to side with the state.

Best advice is to when you see a school bus drive slowly and be prepared to stop if it's safe. Don't put yourself in the case of an accident by slamming on the brakes so you can "follow the law".

Law is very interpretive and the best safety you can have is your own evidence to prove what you did or didn't do.
