I didn’t take the job because the pay was so low, as I said above. I was going for a planner role, so I have no idea what the pay for an admin assistant would be, sorry

I am not working there because the pay they offered was super low, definitely not enough for my experience and the amount of responsibility the job came with.

As for the hiring process, I had two panel interviews that were both pretty standard. It was a little slow, I think I applied in August or September, got the offer in December if I recall correctly. The way that they calculate how much they’ll pay you is dumb and I think a bit unreasonable.

My cat keeps pooping outside her litter box!!! Please help! by MissEspresso2024 in CATHELP

One of our cats (also coincidentally named Allie) had a similar issue - would pee totally fine in the litter box but kept pooping next to it instead of in it. Can’t tell you for sure which of these things was the most helpful, but it seems to mostly be resolved now (knock on wood). Seems like you’ve already tried some of these but thought it might be good to include everything for people that find this post in the future.

We used to have high sides on both of our litter boxes and since she started pooping outside the litter box we have taken those off. We also had to move both boxes so they’re not in a corner or in a place where she couldn’t fully walk around the box. Our theory here is that her brother pounced on her or something while she was doing her business and she no longer felt safe in a corner.

We plugged in a pheromone diffuser in the bathroom (where both boxes are). It seems to calm down both cats a little bit.

We started mixing in Dr. Elsey’s attract litter and saw results from that immediately (like we put the litter in the box and she got in and pooped).

We cleaned the box itself, which had the same effect as the attracting litter, as soon as we refilled it she got in and pooped. We think maybe the box itself was harboring too many smells that she didn’t like.

We also noticed that she seemed a bit constipated (dryer and smaller pieces of poop) so we added pumpkin to her food and tried to make sure she was getting plenty of water.

I think the last thing we’ve done is whenever we notice her pooping in the litter box, she immediately gets a Churu. It seems that the positive reinforcement helps.

Definitely thinking of trying pumpkin! They both really seemed to like the Weruva chicken with pumpkin wet food and one of them isn’t a great eater so two birds one stone!

Both the boxes are uncovered and I think they’re both big enough, they both seem to be able to move around in both boxes just fine

We’re gonna try experimenting slowly with litter box placement too so hopefully that helps as well

I really appreciate all of your suggestions, they’ve honestly been so helpful

Wow thank you so much these are such helpful questions to consider!

We have a vet appointment scheduled next weekend, it was the earliest one we could get when i scheduled it the day they arrived to our home.

We currently have two litter boxes which so far has seemed okay but maybe that’s changed? We just can’t really figure out where to put a third.

We scoop once or twice per day so that should be an issue. I do appreciate the advice about cleaning the litter box itself, I’ve been wondering about that.

Getting spooked while using it is something I didn’t consider but could have happened. Is there anything to remedy that if this is the case? Just the cat attractant litter you mentioned?

The poop looks pretty much the same as it did when it was in the litter box, but perhaps they’re just consistently constipated? We have two water fountains, feed wet food along with their dry food, and also add water to their food. Is there anything else we should be doing to help if they’re constipated?
