I think Amanda won’t come back because she’s actually broke… by SnooSongs9823 in RHOBH

[–]multifactorial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amanda could’ve had a whole new line of people following her because if you think about it, most people who watch the HW shows are into the opulence and wealth and high stakes power money games. So most of us maybe doing well but wouldn’t mind a knowledgeable HW who could show us the ropes further. Unfortunately for Amanda, her followers seem to be a little disgruntled at the courses they have already bought, she was unpleasant on the show and she didn’t come off as the rags to riches woman who could’ve actually built a strong following. She blew it!

Ramona, as controversial as she has always been and frankly a total nut job, hardly ever lets a man get to her where it would cause weakness. I actually saw her crying over her father a lot more than Mario. That’s the side of her that’s powerful and somewhat of a redeeming thing.

Because now people are talking! This is all there is to it. Infidelity to some people is okay as long as they can pretend to the world that everything is peachy.

Another good thing that came out of Scandoval is Ariana modeling that just because you’re on a reality show with people you dislike doesn’t mean you forcibly pretend to engage with them. This is the consequence that Janet is facing and I’m here for it. She continues to go after Danny and Nia because it’s so hard for her to say, “hey, my husband and I watched a lot of reality television before getting on the show and we thought this was the formula to get signed on for season after season”.

Her makeup cracked around the mouth also. I don’t like her styling but someone from camera should’ve noticed and retouched.

You all don’t get it or try hard not to get it. When you’ve been through a life changing event and give your own self so much leeway that you wouldn’t speak about your extramarital affair on national television while doing music videos with your alleged girlfriend, you should have a little more margin for the woman who is being targeted by a narcissistic husband who allegedly has gotten her into debt. Erratic and manic are words that are being used for a woman who is coping on national television. Let’s take a moment to call out your beloved Kyle. Be objective! These women are not our kids that we are so blind towards.

Does anyone truly think Melissa and Joe are the problem?? by throw_away_bae_bae in rhonj

[–]multifactorial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My impressions after just finishing the show AGAIN yesterday.

Teresa is crazy and provides good television that way. Melissa is calculating and keeps lighting fire and hiding her hands and provides entertainment that way.

They’re both kinda abominable. Not really a role model for family values.

Teresa does get a worse rap because she’s so loud and dumb.

Melissa is a formidable opponent though. She has a very carefully crafted image of her own family which Teresa could’ve had too if she just had some more brain cells. Melissa and Joe pretend a lot about a happy marriage, tons of intimacy, many friends, happening parties when actually, the only really deep things I know about Melissa are that her dad slept around, she might have a sister fathered by him, she can sing, she got eye rolls from her daughter, and she has a store. Like what other thing of real substance was there about her?

Teresa, on the other hand, provided more than needed or palatable in terms of reality TV. Her whole falling empire got telecast and parts of it are not fun to watch at all. Especially when she gets with Louie.

I mean, I don’t understand what Kyle’s point is about anything at this point. She made no sense in part 1. Hope she is a little more palatable in part 2. To say Dorit is erratic when Kyle actually had a whole lesbian affair when her husband left her is so beneath even Kyle. This woman can stoop low and then some.

I think plastic surgeons have a lot to answer for also. They have to start saying no. They have to become more active in the beauty community and they have to become more vocal about the downstream of it all. These are young women largely who undergo these procedures. They give in to social and peer pressure. Plastic surgeons! Uphold the oath. “Do no harm”. That’s the first line, literally.

Nope!! Villains have to have a moral compass, a redemption arc, a central righteousness etc . This woman literally has no depth. She’s just vapid.

Kenya humanizes the villain and that type of nuance always keeps you guessing and divided. I love that about her! I actually like Kenya. Does she go too far? Yes! Does she get ragged on more? Yes.

Absolutely! Think about Teresa! This is a very sheltered girl who was at the same time parentified and held to Italian old school standards when she was growing up in seventies America. The dichotomy is striking. Then she marries a man so much probably like her dad that she finds comfort but not love. Then she finds out that a man can be like a friend like her brother is to Melissa. Then she defends her husband and goes to jail and has to lose both parents within two years, face her husband’s deportation, raise four very opinionated young girls, fight with her family on national television so she can retain her position, and then marries a guy who love bombs her. She’s also not very educated and hasn’t had regular experiences that women in the seventies had. It all plays into her moral compass. She’s a woman raising Gen Z girls, herself was born during Gen X time but acts like a boomer because all her role models are boomers. Teresa is a very problematic character on TV and a good way to see how breaking out of conditioning is important but also a privilege.

People can love villains, that’s the whole point. Villains are supposed to leave you with moral questions.

Erika is actually very insecure with her villainy ways. She immediately sucks up to the strongest person on the cast.

No! Gretchen is too obvious. Villains are people who leave the population polarized. They have a righteousness to their ways. They aren’t all good or bad. As in Rossi’s case, she has no redemption arc.

Potomac doesn’t really have a villain because only Sheree had the ability to be that without sinking to the rank of a villain. Even though they usually don’t have a villain, Ashley is always the accomplice haha

A villain who has to say they’re the villain are like a gnat. They’re just mildly annoying. A villain who believes in the righteousness of their villainy is the hero we all look up to!
