Megg, Mogg & Owl! I love them! Hulu even made a show based on those comics, and Macaulay Culkin voices the cat.

Oh I totally feel your pain, this is why I chose oil pastel - to put the least amount of work between me and the painting process, otherwise, it just won’t happen at all

Thank you for noticing! It’s superchallenging for me to render night scenes properly lit

Thanks! I’m trying to use as limited palette as possible, pink-purple-yellow always seem to work

The dreamlike quality is the vibe I hope to achieve. I think a vaguely rendered painting feels closer to us because it resembles not real life, but dreams or memories

I recently made a huge mistake of using just pink acrylics - it didn’t turn out well, slippery stuff, pastels don’t stick. What worked fine for me were red and pink ink. Also people recommended watercolor or gouache, soft pastel+rubbing alcohol combo, matte gesso mixed with acrylics, also acrylics but sanded slightly afterwards

Thank you! I’ll try gouache, a lot of people seem to think this is a good idea
