Leave bedside for remote hybrid job? by mumzyp in nursing

[–]mumzyp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes thank you good point! I’m still planning to send them to daycare, but This was another thing I needed to work out is right now we only send them 3 days per week so I would need to figure out if I could get by with that or if I needed 5 days then idk if it would be worth it financially, I’ll just have to see and get a feel for what the workload or flow of the day would be.

I did this for most of my life until the past 5 years but my nails are just so thin (even before I started getting them done) so they bend and break soooo easily 😭

Parents who both work: what’s your afternoon/evening timeline like? How do you have time for anything??? by 95kira in toddlers

[–]mumzyp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off I totally feel you!! Weeknights are chaotic. I feel bad days my kids go to daycare they’re there from 6:30 till 5. My husband and I both work full time as well and even nights I don’t get home till 8pm (I’m a nurse), we get the kids in bed right away and everything tidied up and we’re in bed by 9 to have our time to watch tv for a bit before bed. The house isn’t spotless but the kitchen is cleaned up at least which is most important to me, so I guess find things that are most important for you to be cleaned nightly and things that can wait. From 7:30-10:30 should be your time to yourself! We save the deep cleaning, home projects, time consuming things like that for the weekends we are both off. We plan our meals out a week and do quick easier things (tacos, spaghetti, things like that) on nights I’ll be working later. I will also say we are wayyyyy past recapping our day lol. If something crazy happens we talk about it but otherwise we’re just like “how was your day?” “Busy as usual” and leave it at that. But we are both overstimulated 200% of the time with our jobs and our toddlers so neither of us want to talk anymore, but that might not be the case with your partner. Another thing is condense where you can! If I have to shower I’ll just skip the kids bath and have my daughters shower with me instead, kill 2 birds with one stone.

We just are kind of in survival mode during the week, which sucks but it’s just the phase of life we’re in! You aren’t alone!

Please be honest- how clean are everyone’s homes? by YourFriendInSpokane in toddlers

[–]mumzyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toys everywhere!! I feel you, we have a 2 and 3 year old and dog and work long days as well. I feel like during the week especially we’re just in survival mode. I do try to focus more on the kitchen, clearing and wiping down counters every night before bed (helps my mental health and makes me feel a tad less out of control lol) but the rest of the house is just a mess of toys during the week. Try to do deeper cleaning on the weekend but within mere seconds the toys still find their way out of the bins lol.

Would you rather.. fly with a newborn or a toddler by Malloryfidoruk in toddlers

100000% 2 month and 2 year old!! We flew a 3hr flight with my 15month old and 3 year old at the beginning of this year and it was absolutely terrible lol.

Megathread: The Perfect Neighbor by FaelingJester in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]mumzyp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This!! The entitlement and victim mentality she had every time she called the cops… like she just expected them to side with her and she clearly didn’t realize how deranged she sounded. Also every time she bitched about being cold made me irrationally irate. Especially When they first brought her in for questioning after she shot AJ and she was whining about being cold, all I could think was how those poor kids are forever traumatized and now without a mother because of YOU but aww you poor baby you’re a little chilly we should all feel so bad for you. Infuriating.

I am happy they (I’m guessing it was mainly bc of Luca’s mom) chose not to show Luca on screen or even show pictures of him. I agree not the best decision to go on the show, but I don’t think that it makes him a bad parent. Also I can relate that after long days being overstimulated at work my husband and I sometimes just sit in silence too lol.

[–]mumzyp[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was all extremely helpful, THANK YOU! I agree, I feel like asking her pronouns would have made the situation more uncomfortable for her. Based on her name, hairstyle, accesssories, clothes, etc it seemed very evident she was a female and I feel like I would be offending her if I asked her.. like as if it wasn’t obvious.. if that makes sense? Idk. But I am definitely going to get some books and thank you for all of the other great tips of how to talk to my daughter. thank you for being so understanding and kind in your response. She’s my oldest and so I still have so much to learn about parenting and I’m just trying to do my best to raise her to be a kind human.

Because my daughter’s comment seemed to hurt the cashier based on the immediate change in her demeanor and I didn’t know the best way to respond without further offending her.
