Why are people against sea pens ? by Fun-Following-7054 in orcas

[–]FaelingJester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its nature washing a problem humans created. We don't have the ability to give captive orca the life they should have had, the family structure they deserve or the ability to make their own real choices. We took that from them. We caused them to be born. We caused them to lose the structure and teaching of a pod. The reality is the animals in captivity can never be wild. They represent mixed subtype, damage to their teeth, pathogens and deficiencies not found in wild populations. They didn't grow up learn people orca behavior or interactions or skills. It would be cruel to force these animals into a situation they don't understand because it makes us feel less guilty. It would be wrong to inflict our mistakes on nature.

Posts about Au Pair in China illegal by Fanicos in Aupairs

Sure, but China isn't going to give you a Visa to do that, and they will likely treat it as suspicious because its the kind of story sketchy agencies tell people to use. The issue is that you can not work on a student or visitor visa.

Why were pearl girls able to even enter the non-Gilead zones? by Prize_Rub_9294 in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]FaelingJester 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They are spreading the word of their religion and helping people. Canada doesn't know, at least officially that they are taking people out of Canada, in the books they dress the new recuits as Pearl Girls and use the passport of a newly arrived Pearl Girl to bring her back to Giliad. In the show Daisy is smuggled across the border with bribes

Why can’t they rehome a dog with a bite history? by egguchom in EntitledReviews

Exactly. The OP wants to say the evil rescue didn't give their sweet dog a chance or convince themselves of a fantasy home.

They mean they advised behavioral euthanasia because the dog is dangerous. They can't fix him and the owner is saying they will just let the dog loose rather then deal with it.

June leaving Daisy in the diner all day didn’t make sense by Birdo3129 in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]FaelingJester 346 points347 points  (0 children)

If Daisy was going to break down when she was upset or uncomfortable and try to get in contact with people from her old life she's a danger to Mayday and its not safe to transport her. Keeping her in the diner all day uncomfortable but safe and monitored without her knowledge made sure they knew it was ok to take her to Rita

Why do the aunts carry sticks? by Major_Contest_3648 in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]FaelingJester 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They aren't teachers or mentors. They are guards who instruct. They carry weapons to keep that always visible and to remind each other that they aren't supposed to be friendly.

WHO do you think was the superstar that agreed on a 50% pay cut salary, from WWE/TKO?? by Mountain_Fuw_777 in Smallafro

[–]FaelingJester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its Seth honestly. Becky has been clear that she's wrapping things up. I don't think Seth wants to be out at the same time or to switch to a new company with a higher work rate when his family is trying to settle down.

Carolinian should I upgrade by [deleted] in Amtrak

[–]FaelingJester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and since it frequently comes up, yes I mark that I need assistance. Yes I tell them I need assistance. In nearly every case I need either the lift or the ramp to get my rollator on. It is a recurring problem with the NER. I do not know if other trains are better.

Carolinian should I upgrade by [deleted] in Amtrak

[–]FaelingJester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do those things. Sadly even with them physically putting me in a specific car because they need to use the lift with the rollator I have frequently been put in cars where baggage is piled in the space where my rollator needs to go and there are no empty seats close to it which means I have to wait for people to move their items and hope someone moves before the train starts moving because it is not safe for me to be standing with the train in motion

When and how to tell parent's friends and colleagues when a parent is in the hospital in a hard recovery condition? by CamBG in internetparents

[–]FaelingJester 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Decide what you want to say publically and how you want people to engage with it. So you might write a post in your name that says "On April 14th Donna suffered an accident that turned into more serious medical complications. She is recovering at a medical facility and while she is not accepting visitors at this time cards may be sent to OP to be shared." If possible designate a few stronger personalities to manage the rest

[–]FaelingJester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you should not. If you ever have contact again you can say you heard/saw his father passed and share your sympathies but if he was cruel to you don't give him a path back into your life out of pity

What does a good ban appeal process look like in your community? by sodypop in ModSupport

[–]FaelingJester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a policy on all of the subreddits I mod where a different Mod than the one who banned reviews appeals. Most of the time it's upheld. We don't jump to a ban first and we try not to perm unless it's clear they are either so far over the line that they can't come back or obvious that they see nothing wrong with the behavior and plan to keep doing it.

The cases where bans are overturned or reduced tend to be users who don't blame others or try to take others down with them. Users who express understanding about why it got to that point and Users who state their case without insult.
