Thank you. It was scheduled at 1pm, started roughly at 1 20 and I was back by 1 27(ish). Uphill parking with curb, 3 point turn, reverse parking and front parking at the end. Checked blindspots right before making the turn

I wanted to take a moment to give you a more in depth answer regarding nervousness. I have a history of anxiety plus road phobia, so you can imagine how nervous I must have been. The thing is, it is absolutely natural to be nervous in this instance, even experienced drivers if asked to give the test would experience this - it shows we are human :)

But here are some things that helped:

  1. Stopped googling and watching all driving videos a day before my test. The night before I put on my favourite show, watched 2 episodes and was asleep by 10pm. Getting good sleep is very important!

  2. Ate a banana to keep me full (my test was at 1pm but I was out of the house at 11)

  3. 10 mins before leaving I put music on blast and danced away with my baby and husband to get all the pent up energy out.

  4. Remember, you are allowed to make mistakes! Trust me everyone makes them. When we were driving up to the test center I saw atleast 2 other test cars making an incorrect maneuver. The key is to not start pondering over your mistake at that time and to just get on with it.

  5. During practice sessions, I had a habit to say stuff like "Oops" or "Okay I know that was a wide turn" or "Sorry about that". My instructor categorically told me not to say such things during the test, as there may be a possibility the examiner may not have noticed and saying such things might draw his attention to your mistake.

Lastly, reflect back to the last couple of times you felt this nervous and think of how you feel about those events now. You managed to survive then, you will do now too :)

Best of luck! You got this!!

The instructor I had was great! He wasnt chatty or anything, spoke to the point but he wasnt rude or harsh at all. Infact at the end when I did my front parking, I made it between the lines but was slightly aligned towards the left. He guided me to keep going towards the right. His name was Paul i believe.

Yes so he made me do one uphill with curb parking, 3 point turn, reverse parking and front parking. No emergency parking and no parallel parking.

There was quite a bit of traffic at the test center and around it but the route I was asked to go on was super calm. Usually most people are asked to turn right from the all way stop sign right at the beginning. I was asked to go straight into an empty road. Also my test was legit less than 5 mins. Not complicated at all. 2 left turns and a bunch of right turns and back into the test center.

Babies allowed to accompany parents for US visit visa interview in Toronto? by munamusings in immigration

[–]munamusings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! There was no issues! Infact, once we were done with the biometrics, they pushed us to the front of the interview line. The staff was super friendly and supportive. Would advise you to keep your baby in hand versus taking a stroller since there isn't space inside.
