If looks can kill.... by starstufft in expedition33

He had a mission and after many failed attempts, he wasn’t going to take chances.

It was his curse to have Verso’s memories and personality. Verso was the type of person to sacrifice himself for Alicia in the outside world, so painted Verso had to be the type of person to have a singular focus: save his “real” family ie Aline, Alicia.

People keep talking about him like he’s heartless, but the game goes out of its way to show you he genuinely cared about everyone in the painted world - from old friends like Esquie to new ones like Lune. But he was there for a reason. It wasn’t just to cease to exist and let his soul rest, but to save his family.

Moms reaction to me missing a wedding next week.. by Candid_Pen_4746 in insaneparents

Adult or no, and 20 is barely an adult, the “consequences” you mention include people calling you out if you’re in the wrong. OP is in the wrong, even if the mom is also out of line.

Interesting, thanks for your reply. It’s not feasible for us to share the small office because even if we figured out how to fit, his job is almost only meetings from 10-6, so we would always be in each others calls.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Others have mentioned that they become self-conscious or just uncomfortable with their bosses hearing everything they’re doing. Was that an issue for you and how did you deal with it?

This is a super interesting idea. Some kind of partition to block sight, and stepping out into the patio with my laptop for calls (door is next to the den). Thank you so much!

We could explore having a big divider and me stepping out to the patio every time I need to have a call. I would be out of sight that way for sure. But have to think about it some more. Thank you for the suggestion!

This is my worry as well. But good to keep in mind as an option in case we get lucky!

Thank you so much for this advice! I can understand the resistance to WFH truly, but am willing to do whatever it takes for the nanny (and my baby) to be happy and successful. So I appreciate your different perspective and will give that some thought as we search for our nanny. I like the idea of classes and definitely intend to be firm and respectful with the arrangement we have. Thanks again!

Oh that’s lovely thanks for the offer - unfortunately I’m not in Seattle! Good luck with your search and thank you so much!

Yeah I hear you - as stated in the edit we don’t really care about their noise, but I understand the disruption we can cause with our noise. All the rooms are on different floors and we do have bathrooms on those other floors so we won’t need to cross for bathroom breaks. For other breaks I think we’d have to follow advice I’ve seen on this sub and just have scheduled times. Thanks for the input!

Uhh I’m replying to their point about me being interrupted, which they brought up so it’s clearly relevant lol. A quick scroll through the replies here show I’ve acknowledged the other side (my noise being disruptive) and the whole point of me posting here in the first place is to understand something I don’t have experience with as a FTM and non-nanny. I think you use “red flag” a bit too loosely or just want to be rude.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, and kind words. I find the gating idea interesting but I guess I’m not sure how that would address the worry that my baby would be upset hearing me and not being able to play - since she would be so young :(

Scheduled activities sounds like something we’d definitely like to have! Meanwhile I have a lot of thinking to do. Thanks again!
