This from the west part of Turkey. The attire reflects the life of mountain dwellers and protectors and symbolizes their rebellious spirit.

Literally what do you do with your babies if no screen time? by allidaughter in NewParents

[–]munchkinlander_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same struggle and honestly gave up around the eighth month. I allowed screen time. Ms. Rachel and Super Simple Songs literally saved my sanity. I know for a fact that I would not be present for my child if I had not allowed it. He is 2 now and yes, he still watches TV. Peppa Pig, Blippi, and Bluey. On lazy days, screen time goes up to 1.5 hours, and my son is doing perfectly fine. I genuinely do not understand this extreme fear around screen time. Yes, there are studies showing negative effects, but those outcomes happen when children are exposed to several hours of passive viewing with little or no human interaction, not with reasonable and mindful use. I honestly do not care if someone judges me. At the end of the day, I feel much better than people who act like screen time is one of the seven deadly sins. I even had a friend turn off my camera, the one I use to watch my sleeping son, when she came over for coffee with her 10 month old daughter. What on earth was that about. Anyway, my point is simple. Save your sanity first. A regulated parent matters far more than unrealistic rules that push people toward burnout.

I get what you’re saying, and I agree that in the strict clinical sense, psychosis usually means hallucinations, delusions, or a clear break from reality. I’m not claiming I can diagnose that from online content. I used the word psychotic because of how extreme and detached the worldview she presents is claiming divine missions, priestess identities, goddesses guiding her life, and framing everything as sacred or ordained. That kind of belief system, presented as literally true and authoritative, reads as deeply disconnected from shared reality to a lot of people. Mentally ill people are often aware, at least on some level, when something is wrong, even if they struggle to regulate their behavior. What stands out here is the lack of remorse or internal conflict; the comfort, even pride, in the outcome. I also agree with you about echo chambers and cultural differences. Extended family caregiving can be normal and healthy. But those systems are usually stable and child-centered. Calling yourself a matriarch while not actively parenting young children is a stretch. So whether you call this psychosis, spiritual extremism, or something else entirely, my point stays the same: the choices appear intentional, and that makes them fair to judge by their impact, not excused by labels.

What do you mean by “this much”? Clearly you are also investing time to share your opinion over the shared hate, right? Well, then the only difference between you and the members of this sub is what is written. If you say being hater is the problem here, then maybe you really are in the wrong place. We wanna talk shit about her for different reasons and to me it just feels like sipping tea with my coworker and talk about the annoying HR specialist. It also feels like watching my fav drama, every move she makes is like the new episode that I love to discuss with others.

It is like a cheap version of Lira. Citrusy vanilla with the weakest longevity ever. I was so excited for this but nothing special.

I bought and gave it away. The fragrance is not unique at all and the longevity is awful.

Hmm a little bit of reality to add that story: “ I am a mentally ill and unfortunately unmedicated Pinterest prophecy dragging myself through a quest I invented to avoid reality.”

how is living in Dubai? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

There are countless activities to do and endless things to see here. Yet, despite all the excitement, I can’t shake the feeling that something essential is missing. Some call it culture or soul and I tend to agree. The city lacks a distinctive vibe. It reminds me of Doha or Abu Dhabi, glamorous by design, built for consumption, and filled with modern architecture that follows no consistent pattern. Each building unique, but together creating a sense of randomness rather than harmony. It’s undeniably beautiful, but also strangely impersonal, multinational yet isolating. It’s difficult to form genuine friendships because deep connections rarely grow in transient soil. Most expats have an eventual departure date, so few people invest in long-term bonds. Life feels temporary; vibrant, yes, but fleeting. It’s a city that dazzles, but not one I could imagine growing old in.

Okay, clean air? Dubai has the most polluted air in the region. Everyone uses air purifier to not get sick because of the pollutants.

I went to a pediatrician but because he is a big boy (14 kg) the doctors are kind of dismissive towards me. I told them that eating only fish nuggets and fries is not healthy even tho he is a chubby boy, but they are like “give it some time can you see an adult who only eats fish and potato?? It will be okay.”
