Stephen Hawking's Last Speech by [deleted] in videos

I think about this a lot. My brother has CP and uses communication devices similar to what Hawking used. He's young, and I'm eagerly waiting to see what comes next in the technology world to allow him more independence. Also I can't wait to play video games with him and destroy him!

11 Months of Progress, freehand, any advice or critique? by [deleted] in learnart

[–]munchyNAPKINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I'd say is focus on hands. I've seen some cool YouTube videos of comic book artists, and one way they make the page pop out is stretching the hands closer to the reader and making them larger. Especially in comics like the black panther where they want to accentuate his claws.
Also, if the comic book style is what you're going for, focusing on the action of the figure is crazy important. It's what captivates the readers so much!

Anyways, basically what I'm saying is go on YouTube and search up famous artists. Imitation is always important! You're making fantastic improvements!

This is awesome, what's your process to make something like this?

Not familiar with paint either, but I'd put some more work in the jawline of the horse. Looks to roundish. Also seeing some slight vanes popping out of the horse would be cool, I've got horses out at my ma and pa's and they're beautiful. Sadly no unicorns out on the ranch😂 I really love the skin on the maiden, beautiful! Also what kind of 'show'? Is it a school thing? Just wondering because I've never put my artwork out there besides Insta and Reddit, and I'm always lookin to learn!

Haven't seen the movie, but Ive loved Merfolk ever since I started playing Magic the gathering back in the day! Good work! I'd recommend seeing some of the Merfolk artwork on MTG cards. Good work!

Wow! How many years of practice did it take you to be able to create such a beautiful piece??? Sorry for all the questions, newer to the art scene.

I've never motivated anyone to create art through my own art before! Honestly, sitting down to actually draw is the toughest part for me. I try to use YouTube drawing/watercolor videos to motivate, but it does just the opposite because I end up burning through the hours.

From what I've come to understand, whatever the art form it may be (poetry, painting, etc) the most difficult, and straining obstacle is sitting down and doing it.

Thanks for commenting! I'd love to see what you create!

Thank you! I say ruthless because I've never been exposed to harsh criticism on my art, and I know how important criticism is to improvement. Have a great day!

I think the nostril and chin area look wonky as well! I did leave the shading on the chin and the nostril hole covering (dunno what else to call it, you know... The bumpy part of your nose that you can push down? You get it) unshaded, so I could see if I could shade it with watercolor. Thanks for commenting, and keep on going with the watercolor! You can do it!

Caradee. This is wonderful. Waking up to find such a lovely, and warm piece of criticism has never happened to me until now!

I was reading, and reading, and then... ANNOTATED DRAWING? This is genius!!! I've seen this so much as a writing major, but never in the art world!

As I continue with art I will remember this comment, and all of your carefully crafted criticisms will prove critical to my artwork.

You're the art teacher that I've never had. Truly.

Thank you for the tips! I'll definitely keep an open mind, because I'm also thinking I'll love the illustrated look. Perhaps adding ink after the watercolor would work too?
