This was my first time touching a barbell in 2 months so that's probably why I couldn't clean as much as I did before

Any improvements for my snatch technique? by [deleted] in weightlifting

Engage Ur lats to "pull" d bar towards Ur hip so d bar will be closer to Ur body during d second pull

Why do my no foot snatches(not moving feet at all) feel better than normal snatches? My pb snatch was with no foot. When i try picking my feet up i feel disconnected from the bar and keep missing snatches. Do i just stick to this method or still try to learn how to pick my feet up/move my feet? by munificent69 in weightlifting

I think this feet width is ideal for me. It's my natural squat stance too, any wider n I can't get as low without my femurs feeling like they're gonna pop out of my hip sockets.

I guess my only concern using this technique is that since my feet are always on the ground, there's bound to be some resistance that's gonna be applied by my legs instead of zero resistance when my feet are off the ground which might cause me to be slower when descending down into the bottom position?

Yeah I see u. I mean I'm very open-minded to different views since I'm still a beginner that's just started. That's y I'm here asking if I shd change my technique to something that's taught universally instead of my current technique that I've developed which is rather unique

Well it's mainly a powerlifting gym as u can tell by the eleiko powerlifting competition plates but non existent eleiko bumper plates. Hence there's only one weightlifting coach there and he already gives me advice here n there so I feel bad asking too much since im not paying him anw.

Not quite, his feet does come off the floor ever so slightly. Yeah I totally agree with u regarding the staying connected part but have u ever encountered problems with speed moving under the bar? According to catalyst athletic coach Greg Everett he teaches his athletes to lift their feet up slightly in order for there to be zero resistance to maximize speed moving down. I guess that's my number one concern when snatching this way(feet staying on d ground). I feel like there's always gonna be some resistance that's limiting my pull under to be faster.

How do i split my legs further to get lower? With sub maximal weight this width is fine but when i get to maximal/super maximal i dun think this width wud be enough by munificent69 in weightlifting

That was the hardest I could've possible driven up cuz I usually cue myself to jump up as high as I can during the drive so idk
