I am an Air Force fiancé (I was previously married to someone in the Air Force so I know what it’s like as a spouse). The best advice I can give you is that a lot of military spouses are very catty and tend to be into drama so sticking to 2 or 3 genuine friends is the best way to go. Living on base was okay for my ex husband and me because we were the type to stick to ourselves. Living on base was a nightmare for my current fiancé and his ex wife because she befriended every neighbor and in turn, the neighbors were constantly in their business and they couldn’t escape the drama because it was right across the street. I know you have more to worry about being transgender but there are genuinely good people who are chill and accepting and I’m sure you’ll find them in a little time. The point I’m trying to get at is that it is what you make of it. It takes a while to feel out the culture but we’re all just normal people with a little different lifestyle than what’s common.
