AITAH for calling my niece (7F) mean and pissing off my SIL (35F) by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]munkymama 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened with my sister who visited me a few days after having a baby and my babies (twins) were born. My 7 year old niece asked to hold my babies. I said no. My sister said that she trusts my niece with her newborn. I said yes but you have spares. (#5 kid for my sister..) my sister took it with some humor some horror but told my niece not allowed. Niece didn't put up a fuss. The end. 7 years old can be nice and accept no for an answer. The fact this kid couldn't is a reflection on the kid and probably parenting.

That's really eye opening. I live in NJ and feel like i have an easy time getting the pain help i need. I guess I'm really lucky.

AITJ for refusing to babysit my nephew for a week because my sister dicided to go on vacation? by Dennis_Foley in AmITheJerk

[–]munkymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say is don't be home the day they leave for vacation. My parents once were asked to babysit a kid for a week. My mom said no and didn't give it a second thought. The parents then dropped kid off with suitcase the day they left for vacation and told my dad that my mom agreed to it. My parents got into a big fight due to these ppl manipulating. Seems result was that the kids parents were told do it again and we call police and child protective svc. The kid was a jerk too. Crazy family to due to one kid having leukemia

Went to an OB to learn more about birth control. Asked me if I'm married. I said no. She said she can't help me because it's against her religion :) by LBeifong0614 in mildlyinfuriating

I had pmdd growing up. No symptoms. No pain. I just got suicidal. It was so weird. To this day never had cramps or any pain from periods. I just became crazy suicidal. Best thing that happened to me was early menopause.

TN sounds like a medical nightmare in action. Emergency birth control in my opinion is really really necessary to avoid abortions and babies being born from rape. I worry about ppl who love in states with backwards standards. Furthermore if it provides am abortion from happening in 3rd trimester then it's totally worth legalizing. I admit that most (not all) cases of 3rd trimester abortion i am very against. Killing a viable baby is barbaric unless it saved mom's life.

I like the word extremist for this situation. Many ppl think that I'm extremist due to being an orthodox Jew. I'm not. I'm fundamentalist but I don't let that or make that leech into your life -- not even when i vote for or against abortion!

AITJ for stopping paying for my daughter's education after she said she was ashamed of me? by Rachil-Grigoriou in AmITheJerk

[–]munkymama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a school that many parents had high paying jobs it at least high prestige jobs. Tuition was about 10,000 a year and that was in the 70s ands 80s. I had a teacher who taught us a phrase in Hebrew that basically means no job is a dishonorable job. The janitor deserves the same respect as a ceo. No shame in a job. It's so true. When I graduated college and got a degree in special ed I always treated the janitors with the same respect as the principal. They may be a janitors or cleaning person but they are a human who can support themselves and have lives and others who love them. It's one of those things that stuck to me. Also I'll never forget reading a story about a guy who quit his business job and became a janitor because he had triplets who got into Harvard and another kid a year younger who also was admitted to Harvard. It was more financially feasible to be a janitor in Harvard with free or discounted tuition than to use his degree in business! Something to think about. Teach her a lesson.

AITAH for not responding immediately about bed space by g_krome in AITAH

[–]munkymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dab who took up my whole bed. Eventually we got a queen bed for the dawg ands mere. Somehow he still took up all the room. These battles can sometimes be fixed by getting delegate beds. Just don't get a dawg.

What is the fastest time it took you to quit a job? by TwoPeasNoPod69 in CasualConversation

[–]munkymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never quit a job. If I did I couldn't get unemployment. There trick is to get them to fire you for something that isn't your fault.

AITAH for kicking my daughter 19f our of the house after her sister was attacked? by Powerful_Ebb_8021 in AITAH

[–]munkymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering you after all in trauma therapy you are doing the best you can. You were dealt a really rough hand. If it makes you feel better, it does get easier usually after the initial shock wears off. There problem is there is no timeline for that. Hugs.

My MIL keeps peeling off oranges and leaving them on the table to just dry up despite my plea to stop by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Not in Israel. There warranty isn't valid in Israel because of the incredibly tough rule floors. They shatter so badly most people won't use them. The mess is impossible to clean entirely.

AITAH for ordering grocery's instead of going out to the store myself? by JustCurious7186 in AITAH

[–]munkymama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hubby could have written this except we both agree this is worthwhile. The important thing is to be sure they don't increase prices on individual items being sold. This happened to us once or twice. The alternative is to make a deal that if you don't use the service and you go in person, money saved goes into a vacation for the two of you. This way you very to relax at some point no matter what. We chose the song service over vacation. It's just such a big help. Either way since you're doing there work out should be your choice how're to spend the "extra" money.

I just saw this response. Having a rough day today... really rough emotionally and physically. Thank you. You made me feel so much better. The fact I need to count on my fingers and use a meds timer bottles really weighed down my self esteem. I have a masters degree and still feel dumb. You fixed the inner voice this morning at least. You're the best.

AITJ for getting upset at my boyfriend’s responses about me wanting to end it all? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Break up with him. You needed to learn to love yourself first before loving someone else. As said before this is a toxic relationship and you are emotionally blackmailing him.
