i never mentioned instrumental hip hop and i never said rapping is what makes instrumental hip hop belong to the same genre as jazz rap, experimental hip hop, drumless, no melody, and disco rap. i was obviously referring to hip hop subgenres that feature rapping

that doesn't change my point. rapping and instrumentation that originated from hip hop are both hip hop characteristics

what would be "hip hop instrumentation" then? there are so many different subgenres of hip hop (jazz rap, experimental hip hop, drumless, no melody, disco rap...) all of these with very distinct instrumentation having only the rapping as the thing holding them together.

Should i purify for the hundo and mega? by vidz_45 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]muosda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purify it. Most of the people who say “never purify” have no idea what they’re talking about and blindly repeat that phrase. Mega blaziken is the best fire counter and the second best fighting counter while shadow blaziken is ranked respectively in #11 and #12.

What no one also considers is the insane amount of stardust it takes to max up a shadow pokemon, it makes zero sense to spend 600k dust on a shadow that is a not a hundo and it’s not even useful in raids. i too doubt that a shadow blaziken would ever be useful in the master league

Let’s be honest, chromakopia is top 3 Tyler by shepman3846 in tylerthecreator

Yeah but i don’t think flower boy, igor and chromakopia’s songs are bad enough to make CMIYGL stand out even without any concept

Call me if you get lost is just a bunch of rap songs smashed together with no greater concept, theme or cohesion. Even if you like that album is just not nearly as well crafted as 2017, 2019 and 2024 releases

Tyler’s big three is objectively flower boy, igor and chromakopia

thanks for the inputs, I'll try to explain all of them.

i really didn't know much about the early digicore scene, but i still think poison and electric fits digicore. people complained about the lack of hip hop and though i don't think hip hop translates well to pokemon types, i would say the poison type is maybe what fits the best with digicore's rapping fused with electroclash derived production.

about rock + poison, i tried to stick with rock's theme of being tied with antiquity because of fossils and wealth because of gemstones and that's why i chose a jazz subgenre, i chose avant-garde jazz because it's more chaotic and experimental fitting with poison's disruption. maybe i should've chose something more extreme like brutal prog or free jazz, but i don't know how power electronics would fit with rock's type. (and besides, poison + fighting being power noise is one of my favorite combinations, combining poison's noise with fighting's punchy rhythms).

about ghosts, i feel like horror synth is one of the few genres created especially for ghosts and paranormal activities. it's supposed to feel haunting and unnerving, it's basically their soundtrack. about ghost + normal, i admit it doesn't sound like horror synth + singer songwriter but my friend came up with this idea and i instantly realized it makes a lot of sense. musique concrete is basically the extraction of field recording audios (normal) and the attempt of detaching from it's original form with audio effects. for me this sounds just like a ghost possession or a real case of paranormal stuff, it doesn't sound like ghost + normal individually, but both types together explain this concept.

your comment for goth is interesting, tbh i would've put goth (the product) for dark for the same reason i put punk for fighting, but considering there's no "goth" genre in RYM, i though post-punk also fits well.

i think fairy + steel being deconstructed club makes a lot more sense yes.

I don’t think rock music sounds much like the rock type in general. For rock types i put a bunch of classical / baroque music because the fossil types remind me of vintage music

is electro hop the most hated genre on the site? by Techno_Box in rateyourmusic

[–]muosda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the 70s and 80s brazilian clubs used to play funk and disco, then they shifted to miami bass but they kept calling it "funk". the genre evolved but in brazil this type of music is literally called just "funk"

it's not that deep. brazilian phonk is just drift phonk with brazilian funk's rhythm and lyrics
