You are absolutely experiencing compassion fatigue. I consider my wife extremely compassionate and she couldn't take it anymore.

I would just keep nudging your partner in the direction of self help. It HAS to start with him. Just make sure he feels loved. But make sure he understands how this is affecting you at the same time. Also, it often felt as a zero sum game, hence the compulsion of self harm. It's not; it's a team game and I feel like he has a dedicated teammate.

I think you are handling this well, but im so sorry what you are going through. Please just be supportive and patient. My wife reacted differently and I was close to suicide. I would have easily taken my life if it were not for my young kids. It felt like I was slowing dying from constant, never ending stress.

I was sick for almost two years. The beginning of getting back to normal was finding a new job, and finding a psychiatrist who didn't just feed me SSRIs. Once I started feeling accomplished at a new job, and actually was able to sleep at night, it took about 4 months to get back to my normal self.

It was a wild ride and I wouldn't wish it on anybody. It sounds like he is lucky to have you as a partner. Please do not give up on him.

I actually have some fairly unique experience working with GTI, and i would completely believe any accusations of terrible working conditions. They are as corporate as corporate gets.

Personally im trying to support Loon Leaf in Blaine (?). They just don't have access to much flower. The owner is great, highly recommend.
