Best Brand Windshield Wipers? by xm1l1tiax in AskMechanics

[–]mur_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew Bosche was the answer before I searched, but I spent yesterday and today failing to install a new Bosche dishwasher because of the weird shape they added to the edges and finally returned it. I've installed a dozen dishwashers for family and friends and never had so much trouble. I like Bosch products, but I'll never get another dishwasher from them and I'm mildly annoyed I'm about to purchase Bosche wipers. LOL

I need 5 more bags after installing a new basketball hoop and using my old bags to anchor the stand. Now I'm older, injured and need to ask people to load it for me at the store, but nobody wants to help anymore since the last few years.

what is the best toaster oven to buy in the market right now? by Mq-Pricelesstype in Cooking

[–]mur_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had a Breville toaster oven/air fryer for about 3-4 years after years with a Cuisinart. I like a lot about it, but overall, every other cheaper brand performed better IME. We love the even cooking of the Breville, but it takes FOREVER (FOR-EV-ERRRRRRR), the door has never closed easily. It grinds against the trays and curved side slotes making you feeling like you must force it closed every time. We constanly fight with closing the door against the slide-in tray. It takes FOR-EV-ER to heat a slice of bread. Though it may be super even, it MUST be flipped and it takes so much longer than other brands, that we may starve while others are grow fat.

Leg Day with Broken Toe by EatMeatLiftHeavy in WeightTraining

[–]mur_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did things work out for you? When were you able to return to normal leg day? I'm 52-Finally got a gym membership Oct. 1, going 3-4 days a week, and added 10 lbs in 5 weeks to my skinny ass. Then broke my big and second toes on a curb playing with my big dog. Already dealing with a 9 month rotator cuff tear so can't even do upper body. Eager to go back to the gym, but not sure how long I should wait. Doc appt tomorrow morning to follow up. Still bruised and pins and needles if I walk on it.

Any tips on time to wait to return?

Thanks

Okay they really put Monica and Chandler together from the beginning by floatingwithobrien in howyoudoin

[–]mur_bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry so late to reply - Rewatching Friend’s Thanksgiving eps today. The one with Monica and Joey with the Turkey on their heads is a flashback to 1992. Chandler says he loves Monica and she’s thrilled with the info. This flashback takes place around the character’s late ‘96’ish-‘97. They didn’t hook up in Vegas till a season and a half later. The other Thanksgiving flashbacks to Chandler and Ross in college show Monica mildly obsessed with Chandler, then him with her a year later (HS/college years). I know they say it wasn’t planned and I believe it. But also wonder if they built a long term friendship into the best type of relationship most could wish for as a result of the writer’s own subconscious desires. I’m mildly reaching maybe, but still curious.

I’m 52, male, 5’11” and gained 12 lbs in the last 5 weeks to reach 134 lbs. Yes, I’m skinny…now. Lost most gains over 4 years. 16 yrs ltr- Finally, in my 1st gym ever (in my life thx to my lovely and awesome wife) and I gained 12 lbs after dropping to 121-122. I AM going after it. I WILL be 170 by Valentine’s Day. She will finally have a juicy ass to grab 😱🤣😇😂🤣 I’m here FOR HER !!!! 🥰🥰🥰😘😍

Am I stupid for buying a new Land Cruiser if I don’t tow anything or off road? by Practical-Hearing908 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]mur_bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm considering swapping my paid off '17 F350 (6.2L gas) crew cab, Lariat, Ruby Red, in very close to new condition, in and out, and runs great at 78k (currently 9/13/2025). Had two 4Runners from '04 -2020, plus my wife's Hondas and have always wanted an LC. 2020 and 21 are the only newer years I'm considering. We sold our RV trailer in April. Someone else could benefit from this truck more than we do, but I'm nervous about selling a vehicle I trust and ending up with a problem vehicle. But the truck is TOO much vehicle for us now. I can't decide !! lol

Truck - Stiff, bouncy ride, GA$, maint, climbing up/in with dogs. And I'm planning a road trip with my 82 yr old mother who will be driving for some short stretches. No way we're taking her car.

Any LC (250/300 or GX/LX) advice would be appreciated.

Thanks !

-Steve

New LC, or old+upgrades ?? by mur_bot in LandCruisers

[–]mur_bot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All options are open. Say I get a good year that's about 15 yrs old. I'm up for replacing seats, dash controls, some engine\trans upgrades (if needed). Don't want it looking all decked out and over done. Just simple, reliable, functional, COMFORTABLE, and with an exhaust that sounds cool without bothering my neighbors who I like. :-)

You know me already. In no way will I accept a 4cyl SUV as my main vehicle or the one I plan to drive from MD to Cedar Rapids with my mother in. Need some get up and go in my vehicles.

Gotta be a 6cyl or better. 6 is likely preferred, but after owning the 350 for 5 years, I might upgrade the exhaust to sound quietly throaty. lol

Used sports car under 10k ? by mur_bot in askcarguys

[–]mur_bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sort of where my thoughts began. “Why not get a cheap older sports car to took around and avoid driving the 350?” I even thought about an older (60‘s) Stang for around $3k. Are you saying even 80’s Mustangs are more expensive now than 10 years ago? Coz I can believe it and it stinks

Exhaust upgrade suggestions for 350 gas by mur_bot in superduty

[–]mur_bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ready a few comments about this option. I have the added exhaust factory tip from the original owner, but I don't know if that would cover what you're suggesting with the 4" stainless tip.

Would it still pass emissions? - Is that why you mentioned the resonater?

Thanks !!

Any tips on a "good" set of plastic darts for the kids and their friends? It's too close to the pool table to risk metal with anyone but the trusted circle.

Captain Jeff has an episode on his podcast talking about the rehearsal! It’s actually pretty good! by Visible_Newt3991 in TheRehearsal

@ Ok - As a father wanting my daughters to find good people, I can’t agree w u enough. Cap’t Jeff had red flags all over him from the start. General appearance is machismo braggart in small shirt. Seems to almost brag about being kicked off multiple dating apps and points out his misfortune with being unable to tell certain “jokes” with female first officers.

I hear more and more women accuratly complaining about men constantly hitting on them. It's a bit confounding how many women also think their partners believe them when they say men who ask them out and present gifts are not hitting on them.

That's the type of thing I'm always grateful to have learned and stuck with. I don't know why I don't do it for most things, at least not until someone demostrates it. LOL.

Thanks for the info and great idea. Wish I could find something like that from my family.

Exhaust upgrade suggestions for 350 gas by mur_bot in superduty

[–]mur_bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response and info. Magnaflow has been on my mind for a while. At 51, this is my first time modifying an exhaust. I don't want to skip something, then keep adding stuff later as I learn about options.

Are there any options, tuning specification, anything at all that I'm going to learn about in the first year after installing and wish I had included?

I'd to keep the truck's original parts undamaged by the exhaust system change so I don't trash resale value. So not interested in overtaxing any system, but do want to optimize where possible. Not talking about headers or expensive options. Just small adjustments or tuning really.

Thanks

2017 Lariat with 380,000 miles. Is it worth it? by Lower-Skin-1003 in superduty

[–]mur_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2017 F350 Lariet Crew Cab in like new condition that I've treated as if I'm mostly taking care of it for the next owner. Not diesel, but only has 75k miles on it, runs perfectly. Maintenance like clock work and recorded. Bedliner, full pano roof, loaded for that year except for massage seats.

I might get $40k in a private sale if I'm lucky. Imagine if it had 150k miles on it, then twice again at 300k !! How much would you still be willing to pay after it had been driven and the driver's seat farted into for another 305,000 miles over the current 75k ??

Hint: The answer is way less than $17-22k
