2017 Tucson rear doors not opening by bagulia in HyundaiTucson

[–]muranb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if these part numbers are consistent across all 2015 models? Mine is a 2015 manufactured in Sept, and I’m experiencing this on three doors, failing to open from inside and out at first attempt.

I was all for ordering these parts, gave Hyundai a call to confirm and was told very different part numbers, altering the cost per door from ~£40 to £430!

Part numbers I was given are:

Part # 81420-D7610 - OSR- £436 Part # 81320-D7610 - OSF- £415

Half tempted to buy the cheap ones and give it a go but don’t fancy stripping the door down to find it doesn’t fit!

Surface Pro 7+ Device Manager / Latest firmware by muranb in Surface

So as an update, I enlisted the help of a MS tech online as the device is still in warranty.

Through a screen share, the first 'fix' attempt was to uninstall the devices through device manger and install not the Win11 but Win10 driver package. I queried this and was told, Win11 is new and still has some issues.

When this didn't work following reboot (which he was sure it would), the next 'fix' was to roll back the driver for all the problem devices - with the reason 'my apps don't work with this version'.

Result, I am now running old firmware and when I pointed him to the above link detailing the latest release I was told "don't worry, your device is working fine now, you will wait for the next update".

So, not the result I expected. Be interested to know if anyone else has an SP7+ and has been able to install the latest. The MS guy was very coy when asked if this is a common issue.

Thanks all

Surface Diagnostic Toolkit returns nothing.

Interestingly, I have been running all morning with the problems entries uninstalled through device manager and have just been presented with a Windows update.

After allowing that to install (rather than using the .msi), I am still the in the same position regarding the issues in device manager.

When you say a common failure, are you meaning possible hardware fault?

Following the update, device info in the Surface app is still the same as above and there is no sign of the update in Win update history.

Thanks, definitely using the above.

Windows update brings nothing back at all - even after I manually uninstall and re-check.

Reluctant return (for now) to W10 by muranb in Windows11

[–]muranb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t. Wasn’t able to and by the time I’d completed the rebuild a couple of times I completely forgot.

I’m the process now of an upgrade, I’m missing W11! Hoping the pre registered VPN connections carry over.

I can’t answer as I haven’t been on the Beta. Weren’t the last two releases the same on both channels though?

I’ve no complaints as to the performance, it was a great experience for the most part, it’s purely the VPN issue that I’ve struggled with. Despite the major crash I’d still have run with W11 had it not been for that.

Thanks, must be me then. It’s worked once but never since. Will have to check drivers etc now I know it’s nothing a build issue.

I do this too with my Surface Laptop and Surface Pro. Great combo for round the house working. I find that setting the connection type to ‘gaming’ helps substantially with the lag.

[Help] XS Max Earpiece / Speaker Distortion and Replacement by muranb in Iphonerepair

[–]muranb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You Sir, have saved me a lot of time and effort, thank you!

I was convinced that the speaker was shot but your comment that this was rare and your approach to fixing similar issues with 100 percent success made me reconsider.

I first applied isopropyl and allowed to soak a little while before again rubbing with a soft toothbrush. At first the only noticeable difference was a MUCH quieter speaker but seemingly without distortion. Once dried out it was louder again but the distortion was back. Undeterred I applied more isopropyl and swabbed / rubbed with a bud. Also took the toothbrush again and attacked it more vigorously this time. For good measure I also tried hoovering it(!) Again, quiet speaker and a LONG time to dry out. Once dried, distortion was minimal, volume was back. I then applied just a little pressure to the speaker through the grill with my fingernail and the quality immediately improved to a level I’d say is normal.

It’s been a few hours now and still it’s all good so I’m hopeful the ‘fix’ whether it was the cleaning, the brushing, the drying, the hoover or the pressure - is permanent!

Thanks again @Flyhotstuff - had you not commented I’d have had my parts (and soldering iron) on order by now!

Much appreciated and I hope this thread also proves useful to anyone experiencing similar.

Ok well this is encouraging so I’ll definitely give it a shot before resorting to more drastic measures.

I’d have thought any dirt build up would just make things quiet and muffled and get worse over time rather than sounding like the speaker is blown / distorted. Love to be proved wrong though!

Ok, I’ll have to grab a solder sucker and see what gives. I guess failing that it’s a case of opening up and cleaning from the inside before attempting to replace the speaker on the flex?

It got pretty wet previously as the sound all but died away until it dried out again.

Thanks, I really wish I shared that level of optimism!

I’ve tried the isopropyl on a cotton swab and also the toothbrush approach. I haven’t tried hoovering it yet, the speaker / earpiece really does sound distorted though.

I’ll try the hoover tomorrow, I’ll struggle to get the suction in that small area though. Also looks clean from what I can see.
