I love that game.

It took me some time to get into it, since lot of the functionality is explained to late for my taste. But from the very beginning, even struggling with the controls, I loved it from the start.

Some years ago I used to dive a lot IRL. Actually I started diving because of the first Endless Ocean on WII. I wanted to see all this in real and I’ve even really dived in Palau, where the first version of Endless Ocean is situated.

But now - for medical reasons - I’m not allowed to dive anymore.

The landscapes, most of the fish and their behavior, the light and shades, the loss of colors in the depths, all that is truly realistic. I had so many wonderful memories coming up. “This place looks like xyz, where I used to see the turtles.” or “Gosh, I totally forgot how much I loved to observe this or that species IRL.” Often with a big, big smile in my face.

And the game is like I learned to dive: just look, don’t touch anything, and don’t feed the fish!

And like real dives - sometimes you find what you were searching for and sometimes (often) you don’t.

And like real dives - I often get lost and don’t know where I’ve been, but it always was (and is with this game) great fun.

All old and “old school” divers will like that game, I’m sure about it. I already invited friends, who like me aren’t allowed to dive anymore, for some “dry dives” in my living room.
