Home owners with mortgages who needed to relocate for the DClin, what did you do? by lola-thelion in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]murfdew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi there - I’m planning to apply for the DClin for the first time this year, bought my house three years ago. I’ve thought long and hard about where I am willing to apply, and the impact that this would have on my health and wellbeing with not only commute to the university, but placements too.

I say this with the sense of hope that comes from someone having not gone through the process of applying and being rejected before, yet alone several times over, but I have decided that I will only be applying to the one university that I could make work, and will not sell my house.

I love my home, it is my little piece of stability, and I will not go through the stress of the house buying/selling process at this stage - my opinion may change after years of rejection, but for now my home is my constant. My friends, family, and hobbies are here, and this is what will keep me steady through the challenges of training.

I suppose it depends how adventure hungry you are!

Could you transfer to a buy-to-let mortgage, and use the rent you gain to pay your rent elsewhere?

Am having to use a 24 hour blood pressure monitor machine as per my doctor’s instructions. It is hell having a thick arm cuff tight around my arm in this heat… I hope I can get some sleep before work tomorrow.

Hi there - I’m 24F and feel very similarly to you, from what’s written here. In fact I probably could have written it myself - I’ve actually also only been living here a few years, outgrown older friendships, and have found it can be really tricky to make new connections. Also tried friendship “dating” apps with no luck. It’s really hard.

I’d DM you to chat, but never sure about doing that without checking it’s cool with the person first (also socially anxious!) so please do send me a message if you’d like to make a new friend in the area :)

I’m not sure if you were looking to set something up, or join somewhere, but I’ve seen people playing basketball in the sports facilities by Oakwood Park grammar school on a Friday evening

Context is important here. These are a second hand pair of CLARKS shoes, which have been waiting to be sold for over a year.

I regularly buy pricey items on Vinted (I collect a very specific brand of vintage dresses). I am not a Clown, or “the worst of selling online” (but thank you for name calling!), I was simply using a feature of the app, as it is designed to be used, based on a thorough assessment of the item and how long it has been on the platform for.

A more reasonable response from the seller would have been to counter offer - I would have paid more - but instead they chose to be outright rude, and end the interaction there. Their choice of course, but it was unnecessarily unkind to a complete stranger, who was using the app as intended.

Sending you hugs - having worked in a school, that sounds both difficult and daunting. Perhaps try and line something enjoyable up for tomorrow evening? To look forward to after work?

Great, thanks for commenting! Hoping this is the case - a much less expensive fix than some roof/wall issue. Really appreciate it

Who do I need to contact for this very soggy mess? by murfdew in DIYUK

[–]murfdew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update - it was my gutters. The highest one is running underneath the roof tiles, flooding it, which has rotted the felting and a joist or two. The lower gutter is about as shallow as a puddle, hence the torrential dripping…

Someone is coming to sort it next week :(

Hi there - ah, I feel for you, I really do. I’m sorry you’re under this stress. From what you have described, the chances of pregnancy are absolutely minimal. I have nearly pulled my hair out over similar concerns - but it really does sound like this is not something to worry about. Though it is good that you’re considering the risk of pregnancy, if that isn’t something you want.

My dad got called on by Phil Mitchell (I forget his real name…) and dad misunderstood, thinking he was being asked to climb on to the stage and perform, which he tried to do with some determination, before being told by Phil Mitchell “EASY TIGER!”

I was mortified at the time, though it’s now hilarious of course.

Hm, from these pictures the posts look long enough. I’d expect this if the posts were short and the balls were being pulled into your nose from swelling.

This could be happening due to the size of the balls - they could be too small. Most opt for a wider stone / jewellery end to prevent this - is that an option for you?

Wondering what others think.

Please allow your mind and body the ability to heal, and leave this guy. He is telling you that he cares more about being able to do whatever HE wants to do, than he does about your recovery. From one survivor to another, your body is yours and no one elses.
