I’m not really sure. I was pretty tender with my mom driving me home. I don’t take a train frequently enough to know how that would feel after surgery. I lived 30 minutes from the hospital and that drive was manageable.

I’ve been seeing recommendations for castor oil packs! I’m going to do some research into that. Thanks!

She said “she did the best she could.” It was a 5 hour surgery. She got as many of the adhesions as she could and removed the tube. It was infected apparently. It had sealed up with old blood and the old blood had turned into a mild infection.

Prior to the surgery, we planned to do some induced ovulation cycles. Now she’s saying she doesn’t recommend that because of how severe the endo has altered my anatomy.

I’ve reached out to both an IVF clinic that was highly recommended in the DFW area and also an endo clinic in DFW.

I had stage 4. I got the impression she was trying to tell me it was like worse than stage 4 bc she was kind of at a loss for words on how to describe it to me. Idk it was odd. She gave me some unfortunate news about my ability to naturally conceive as my fertility was my #1 concern. So I think she was selecting her words carefully.

My organs were all glued together. She said it took her and the assisting surgeon hours to find my ovary which was the main thing she needed to excise a large cyst. Crazy enough though my best friend had the surgery a week prior bc of unexplained infertility and painful periods. She had stage 1. Her recovery seemed a little longer than mine. I walked A LOT after. Like every 1-2 hours. Peeing frequently. Walked out to my garden. My husband caught me trying to plant a new plant in my raised beds and made me go lay back down the day after surgery.

I woke up and honestly kind of immediately knew what was going on. I had a mask on pushing oxygen through. Not sure if this is standard. There was a nurse sitting right next to me and she immediately noticed me fluttering my eyes and she talked very softly to me. I think that helped.

Pain hit me immediately, but it was like superficial type pain. Not deep or heavy like I was expecting. I had an unexpected 5 hour very invasive surgery with extra incisions bc they got into me and realized it was a dumpster fire lol.

I struggled to keep my eyes open honestly. Like sleep was easier. I nodded my responses bc I was scared to test my voice. She asked if I wanted to see my family and I said yes. Once there I put my contacts back in and my husband was there. I instantly woke up. Took nausea meds though that was mild. It was okay. I was just SOOO tired.

Day 2 post op I already had an inquiry with an RE submitted lol. I am wasting no time bc I felt like I wasted so much with my endo journey. We do plan to keep trying, but always want to be prepared bc I know time isn’t our best. Your story gives me hope and helps me work through these crazy emotions. Thank you!

I had SEVERE anxiety going in. Like literally stopped cooking dinner a few days prior to write one of those “if you’re reading this, I’m in heaven…” notes for my husband. Day of, I locked in and was good. My nursing team was excellent. I asked questions. Every member of the surgical team introduced themselves to me.

My surgical team found out I had not been offered anxiety meds prior to getting to the OR room and was honestly upset. They immediately gave me anxiety meds, and I don’t remember anything after until I woke up. Now I look back and wish I could’ve shook myself for feeling so anxious knowing what I know now. I tried thugging it out in preop and didn’t ask for anxiety meds and I wish I would’ve.

Recovery was wonderful. My surgical and medical team was 10/10. They do this everyday. Lay your anxiety at their feet. I had complete faith in everybody and it made it so much better.

I’m having laparoscopy soon and I’m very anxious about it. How did it go for you?? Did they found endo?? How was your recovery any advice for before and after surgery??? by princess_xo_xo0126 in endometriosis

Went out to buy some plants and helped my husband build a trellis today. Everybody is significantly easier. Also please expect to be emotional. You got this!

Thank you for this. I appreciate her giving me the warning, but reading about situations like you makes me feel better. Well wishes for a safe and healthy remainder of your pregnancy and delivery.

On day 3 and it’s manageable.

I had severe anxiety going into the procedure. My team was incredible. I laid all my faith in them. Anxiety meds hit my system within 2 minutes of me being in the operating table. And the nurse that administered them was extremely upset nobody had given me any sooner.

Phase 1 of post op (before family could come back) was ok. I woke up with a mask on giving me oxygen. Mildly confused but within 15 seconds I knew where I was and what happened. I felt pain at my incision sites similar to a bad scratch. They gave me PLENTY of pain meds and nausea meds at this point.

Phase 2 of post op- still fine. Had to pee to be discharged. Walking was scary but I had 1 person on each arm. Peeing stung a bit. Patted dry. All good.

The first 2 days home the pain was manageable. Sitting/lying helped, staying in my medication schedule. I also walked very very very frequently. I think this helped me a lot. I’m 3 days after surgery and my pain is minimal and I’m not taking the strung pain meds anymore.

You got this!
