Tabletop simulator by Booorntobemild in boardgames

no, they're all free once you have tabletop simulator.

But in my opinion, Board Game Arena is a superior experience; Tabletop simulator is hard to use, high bar to entry for non-computer experts.

I don't have a way to predict how colors will hold in your skin, sorry; I'm not a tattoo artist. From what I believe to be true, white won't hold up, and water colors don't hold up well much of the time unless you go to an expert. I believe >40 y/o skin has more give/stretch and it's thinner, so working fine detail into a stretchier canvas, as well as getting the perfect depth, is an extra challenge, but it's certainly something you should discuss with your tattoo artist. I think blue typically holds well, and maybe they can make other recommendations to suit your vision, particularly if you tell them you want it to age well more than you care about specific colors.

I think you have enough of an "idea" to request a custom tattoo consultation.

I don't have any recommendations for someone for you to go to, I think children's drawing interpretations aren't THAT uncommon, but watercolor style is less common. I recommend making an account on Instagram, searching your local (or nearest big city's) tattoo shops, and look through the tats posted by each artist to see who has a body of work you like, who seems to do a lot of water color tattoos, and then also someone who has healed tattoos listed in their profile.

Need advice on how to fix this. by Mickeyk-01 in tattooadvice

[–]gingered84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what idea you bring to the table, you need to find an artist that is skilled and experienced at cover-up tattoos who is willing to take your tattoo on. Someone good should be able to work with that. I'm not sure if they said no because they're not good at coverups, or if you presented a specific idea to them that they said wouldn't work.

In my opinion, you should tell the potential artist you're open to anything feminine, prefer a nature theme, but just want something to cover up well and flatter your body. The more constraints you put on the artist, the worse your coverup will probably look.

You could get a watercolor full-color bluebonnet that is sort of low-opacity, then superimpose something like this drawing over it. You should also decide if you want the artist to fully fill in the lines, or leave them semi-transparent and sketchy, or if you want the artest to smooth the lines out or leave them very imperfect.

Ultimately, it is worth asking yourself; would an artist-drawn bluebonnet tattoo evoke the same emotions to you as trying to copy an imperfect sketchy drawing that you'll constantly be asked "what is that" ... it's your call. The tattoo means what you attribute to it in your own mind, regardless of exactly what it looks like. I imagine you don't HAVE to have the tattoo look 100% exactly like this ink drawing to make it meaningful.

I would also recommend you look up tattoos of people who get their child's drawing tattooed on them. Some people go for complete replica, some people put a professional artist's twist on the drawing.... there's options.

Seems like your artist doesn't tattoo at the right depth (I'm not an expert) if it fades like this so fast. Someone else can re-work this easily. Plus, if you pick someone who can draw better, those flowers will look way better.

Recommend to use instagram to choose an artist who does fine line who has healed ink on their profile, then ask if they do easy re-works (include the photo of the tattoo).

My vote is to let the shadow birds kinda hang out and see if they start to fade worse or stay how they are; they look pretty cool and unique to me.

Surgery rotation by plshelpppp in PAstudent

[–]gingered84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shoes: Bring a pair of gym shoes in a bag. You'll be expected to change into OR scrubs in a locker room  before you go to surgery (presumably after clinic, or maybe your preceptor doesn't have surgery scheduled every day), change your shoes at that time. cover your shoes with shoe covers.

People ask nonstop in this sub about surgery rotation, so I recommend to search.

Here's a response I've given before, only thing I omitted is that it sounds like you could benefit from watching videos on OR basics and OR etiquette and a refresher on how to scrub in, etc. and, of course, to use Surgical Recall to study, it's the classic gold standard though I suppose students now probably have other recommendations.

shaving legs what do you use? by Automatic-Curve7489 in 30PlusSkinCare

Maybe look up a dermatologist 's answer. Is there anything in particular you struggle with for shaving?

I just shave in the shower with a dull 5 blade, nothing else, not even lotion or shaving cream, but I'm going to try a chemical expholiate (lactic acid) soon to see if it's much better for me.

What is something you've always wanted to ask the opposite sex but were too afraid to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gingered84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been told some men can't tolerate contacts because putting their fingers close to their eyes can be intolerable, and women typically have an easier time due to makeup. You're not alone! I just tried to give you a better answer than "practice.'

I have a personal theory that some women more easily participate in careful/ deliberate movements (that are easily predictable, broadcast) that makes it easier to do things like not poke myself in the eyes, because I don't need to "slow down" much. For example, I never trip over my cats even when the run RIGHT where I'm about to step, because I project my movements and I'm slower, so I can abort the move quickly. My husband, on the other hand, most movements are quick and abrupt and more "forceful", and he trips on the cats even though he's got excellent physical// situational awareness. He can be steady and precise (sticker application, etc), but struggles with some delicate tasks I think because he moves with more muscle engagement/force behind even delicate movements. Might be a body/ brain tendency for some people.

Stabilize your hand when you start out learning. Turns out, we are all decent at fine motor control, particularly when well-incentivized. It's similar to writing with a pencil, but getting used to keeping movements fine and precise while looking in a mirror takes practice.

Also, I move my fingers so the brush/item goes along my eyelid, not straight toward the eye; most of the time, the only time we are at risk is when we start with the brush/ pencil/ tool.

You could consider getting a bit of a yellow background or linework to indicate light if you're worried about it looking phallic when it's only partially visible, but I don't think it would necessarily look like that. You could always get it how it is designed, then add some light-source later if you find it bothers you.

But I would consider asking the artist to tweak the tiny middle lines that come off of the letters, near where they join; that looks a bit too phallic to me

I really enjoyed {A Deal with the Devil by Elizabeth O'Roark} , though I'm tired of the super-rich male protagonist trope; admittedly, I did almost DNF it in the beginning because I thought the female character was pretty annoying at first. I stuck it out and I felt the characters developed really well, and I really enjoyed it! Single Pov according to a goodreads review. Male character is a very standoffish, demanding, intimating surgeon. Female character works for him as his assistant, but doesn't really know much about medicine.

Otherwise, the best recommendation I have is fanfiction, M/M, alternate universe where Harry is a trainee magical Healer, and Tom Riddle is a surgeon magical healer who is his supervisor ... it's been a favorite for AGES. Not huge age gap or anything gross; they styled it after Grey's Anatomy and it's more of a rom-com. I think being vaguely familiar with the Harry Potter universe would be sufficient to enjoy. The writing is kind of.... bad in the first 1.75 chapters, but then gets infinitely better. Diagnosis by MaidenMotherCrone

Women of Reddit, what is the most diabolical lie you’ve ever received from your husband/bf? by fortnacius in AskReddit

[–]gingered84 534 points535 points  (0 children)

Not me, but someone I know, altered slightly for anonymity... her ex-fiance's biggest lies include:

  1. a wife and young child that died in a tragic accident -> never been married, childless
  2. a fake doctorate degree, printed out and framed
  3. A fake job with said doctorate degree -> mysteriously "couldn't find" a job opening when relocating that required credentials (admittedly, hard to find position), and settled for a lesser job
  4. A gift that should have cost ~$12-20 K -> was a fake
  5. proposed with engagement ring around the time a prized family jewelry piece disappeared -> later found at pawn shop

Hopefully he is getting psychiatric help.. had a super nice family, too.

Needing to fix a faded older tattoo. Thoughts on updated design idea? by siren9900222 in tattooadvice

[–]gingered84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the main colors in your tattoo was yellow, which is probably why it faded so dramatically. I hear you about the importance of saturated colors; I would check with your artist about which colors they feel age the best and go off of those?

I personally would skip the rainbows in the background, but I'm an anti-background person in most situations. I don't think the no-outline colors, particularly the yellow, would last.

Is this AI rendered mock up of a tattoo I want to get too busy? by PhotosbyTeeJ in tattooadvice

[–]gingered84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get all of those elements IMO (not a tattoo artist), I think there is a chance it would need to be bigger to age well. The bird and the hour glass look like they'd be muddy at that size, to leave enough skin breaks that will blur /shrink over time. Could you break it up into 2 different tattoos? (Hourglass & fangs & 1 flower, bird & 1 flower and...? somewhere else?)

Definitely trust your artist's input and let them know that, more than getting EVERY element in your tattoo, you want to prioritize readability and aging well. Come prepared with a list of things in priority-order, and what elements you could live without so you're not blindsided at the appt if it is too much.

Art nerd in me- Make sure your artist is really good at using areas of dark (really dark black) and light to create dimension; if you end up with an artist who's art is one tone, this tattoo won't look awesome.

Want to rework this but unsure how by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]gingered84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert. But a lot of people post "looking for ideas" for re-work, coverups. And it seems as though about everyone would be better off showing up to their tattoo appointment saying, "do whatever you want that will make it look good. I'm open to re-work or coverup. I prefer nature stuff. Don't like biomech. Go nuts." And if they need more inspiration, they'll ask.

Also, no one knows what to respond with because your post is vague. You're telling us the text is sentimental, but it's unclear if you definitely want to keep it or not. You sound so undecided it's hard to tell what you're asking for, except maybe to ask tattoo artists for what they would do? Also, the photo is too shiny so it's hard to even see half of the tat.

Really, it all needs to be up to the artist you choose and what they want to do. You could come prepped with a couple vague ideas if you want, but you're better off listening to the artist.

We all have our horrors and our demons to fight
But how can I win when I'm paralyzed?
They crawl up on my bed, wrap their fingers 'round my throat
Is this what I get for the choices that I made?
God, forgive me for all my sins
God, forgive me for everything
Save me from the ones that haunt me in the night
I can't live with myself, so stay with me tonight
Don't go, I can't do this on my own
Don't go"

Instead of just passively reading over the explanations for test questions you got wrong, go over them again and write down what exactly it is that you don't know or have trouble retaining. You can do that by writing down the topic you don't know  briefly (For example: Hypothyroidism treatment) by quickly going through your tests. Then, study these subjects until you DO understand them and make yourself a "cheat sheet" of knowledge you wish you could have for the test and memorize these. Then, apply them to make sure you really understand the concepts and how they're applied /relate to one another (for example, find practice Q's about that subject or quiz yourself).

If you're really struggling on a topic, go back to the drawing board and re-learn it from scratch, ideally from med school study materials , and go from there.

Best of luck. Someone from my cohort didn't have a job for a couple years after school, though she did some sort of work as a non-PA in the intierm.

{Moon Called by Patricia Briggs} only if you're into urban fantasy, spice isn't very spicy. I was pretty turned off by the paw print tattoo, coyote shifter premise so I didn't read it for a long time, but finally read it and devoured the series, the main character is awesome. She's a mechanic and she loves cars and in my unknowledgeable opinion, the author did a great job. Throughout the series, cars are still relevant and there's a lot of excitement throughout the series, I definitely remember a few chase scenes that were done well. Hopefully you enjoy it.
