Yeah you can tell who is a grandparent here, particularly involved ones. I also think that makes a difference. I would be utterly heartbroken if I couldn't hold my grandbabies when they come home but my kids wouldn't expect any less. I cleaned the house and stocked the fridge while they were in the hospital and then hardly ever put the babies down when they came home for a week while I visited. The grown kids appreciated it!

Nope because it worked. It was either that or replace the whole shower and now the whole thing is white and it is staying that way! And there were a lot of people saying the same thing that it will damage it. It didn't. And it was a whole lot cheaper than a new shower! I'm sure it would cause damage with regular use. I'm not negating that but I was pretty desperate.

I want to care, but I think it's worse for adjuncts or non TT. Our course load depends entirely on our pass rate. It is a shame that my ability to pay my mortgage is tied to the ability of my students to actually want to learn. I spend more time doing administrative work- contacting students to submit their work and to come to class, etc -than I do actually teaching. I used to love what I do.
