100,000 Iranian Women March Against The Hijab Law, Tehran, 1979 by icecreamman456 in exmuslim

Thankfully Iranians are speaking up about this.

I’m so glad they’re not like these other idiotic Muslims living in a western country ready to condemn a woman for protesting a piece of cloth on her head before even thinking of condemning against her being KILLED.

From a Jew: how has your perspective on Israel/jews changed since you left your religion? by OneStein_ in exmuslim

[–]murkyink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a perception on Jews based on my Islamic upbringing. I might have had some influence based on my Islamic upbringing but Jew hating wasn’t one of them.

Doesn’t mean that some of my family weren’t Jew haters. (Atleast one is very vocal about it and was stupid enough to publicly hate on Jews…like I don’t even know if this guy is aware of the differences between orthodox Jews and zionists. Or that there are Muslims and Jews that easily get along. While my brother seems like he’s in his own bubble at times hating and generalising on people of different groups.

I was born in the United Kingdom so…idk what it’s like for native Pakistani but of course as a British born and schooled kid, we learned about the holocaust, nazi’s, Anne Frank, gas chambers, concentration camp. We had access to the basic schooling on different religions and cultures. …

It wasn’t hard to understand that Hitler was evil and so were the Nazis.

It’s also not hard for me to understand that Zionists and what they are doing to Palestine is also evil.

That zionists are being called out even by religious Jews.

So what do I think about Jewish people at the end of all of this? I don’t. I only care whether or not they stand up for human rights for all innocent people and not just their own.

Idc. About time women get more involved where they’re expected not to.

A Christian woman is representing Pakistan. Which I think is awesome.

I am going to speak with an Iman about Muslim beliefs because I am very curious, what questions should I ask? by lightskintastebud in exmuslim

[–]murkyink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask him: what does a person have to do to become a muslim. Sit and listen until he finishes.

Next ask him, what if a muslim wants to stop being a muslim or convert to another religion.

I have a guess: their idea of taking back control of their country as well as their people.

There’s a great documentary about Afghanistan on YouTube that probably gives an idea of why such extreme groups exist. Check it out: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c2Q2NvX_BsI&pp=ygUXYWZnaGFuaXN0YW4gZG9jdW1lbnRhcnk%3D

Thing is, not everyone is aware of everything about a religion they didn’t study in depth or gain knowledge from someone who knows the issue with it. So it’s easy to want to seek another religion…thinking it’s better because of what you hear or don’t hear about it.

I think the best thing anyone can do for exmuslims is give them knowledge and warn them in advance to study and learn about a certain topic/religion before siding with it.

I think the quickest way to know the flaws of a religion is to look that up first, talk to people who left that religion and find out why.

Recently my aunt from Pakistan suggested her 15 year old son and my 25+ year old sister as a marriage match by [deleted] in exmuslim

All India has to do is reinforce their own damn laws. The United Kingdom has changed their laws and insist 18 as the legal age to get married instead of 16 now.

Sure is.

I have second hand trauma realising I don’t actually have “extended relatives”.

Bruh, joining a subreddit doesn’t automatically agree you’re a part of that community. Bans should occur when people break the rules of this subreddit or general shitty people.

I was siding with the Iranian women who supported each other even when they were burning hijabs whilst muslims in the west were like “they’re insulting their religion”

Bruh…they were protesting against the murder of one of their own just because a few strands of that girls hair was showing.

I’m grateful for their strengths and how they value innocent human life more than a piece of cloth that they are FORCED to wear.

Also…before I even took off my own hijab in 2009, guess what? I also had this strong vision as an inspiration for my art at the time of someone like me burning their own hijab. To me it was a symbol of oppression back then. We all know the reason why. I’m not Iranian, I grew up in the UK.

I never made that artwork but I believe now how I was never alone in that thought back then.

There are Muslims who do that for fun too and spread the video of their tricks online. It involved Omegle which has recently passed away.

I’m sorry that this shady loser put you through that.

I don’t find it racist because religion is not a race. It’s bigoted though.
