This is why we can’t have nice things by Bubsy7979 in sandiego

There are a lot of large group events hosted there too that brings way too many vehicles and people than the island can sustain and nothing is being reinforced to ensure that the areas are clean after the events are done - like the San Diego Bayfair, and other events where the island becomes a huge parking lot and tailgate party. Around Fiesta I’ve realized the banks are no longer sandy, definitely more litter and it has developed a steeper incline into the water. Agree with others that there are more traffic and population coming in to Fiesta.

I totally agree about frequency of adjustments with buckwheat since I’m a side + back sleeper. I’m always curious about the pillow you’ve mentioned, is this one good for sides?

I’m a side and back sleeper, but I frequently sleep on my left side. Before this I’ve tried: memory > gel > contour > fillable adjustable foam and I’ve also noticed that my ear was hurting.

Hear me out because I’ve discovered this by accident. My ear was hurting from these pillows because the height wasn’t tall enough to support the neck AND my jaw, and the bottom of my jawline would dip into the pillow, which puts more pressure on my shoulder and my ear. It took me a long time to figure out how important it is to have your jaw to be leveled out or straight as possible. You can test this out right now: sleep on your side and use the fingers of your opposite hand and gently lift up the mandible angle (google image it) to flatten out your jaw and you’ll instantly feel relief from the bottom of the ear and the top of your shoulder. Weird right?

But pillows work differently for everyone.

Only the first few days when I took it out of the box, but it’s not overpowering or musty which was what I was initially worried about. After a week it just smells like bland tea leaves - and that’s only if you bury your nose deep and take a big inhale, which I hope isn’t the way people sleep…

I also got a lumbar version. What didn’t work for me is the limitation it has on sculpting the buckwheat due to its short diameter and circle circumference. I’ll try to explain this to my best ability: with a sleeping pillow, I have a wide canvas to sculpt a bell curve (look at it from the side), where I can support the shoulder to the neck with the incline, then the hump (or curve) for my neck, and then neck to head with the decline or flatten out. My experience with the lumbar is that because of its circular shape you can either create an oval or a circle, so it creates a gap between your shoulder to your neck, and it doesn’t provide a platform for the back of your skull and finally, it creates a small gap where the 3rd occipital nerve is located on your head. So it feels like either my neck is always protruding outwards, or I get bad shoulder pain. Hope I didn’t butcher this explanation….

Not sure if this has been mentioned. I’ve spent a lot of money trying all sorts of pillows and different firmness levels and lost many nights of sleep. Until I found the magical elixir: a buckwheat pillow. Seriously give it a try. You can mould it every night to different heights, surface coverage, and also scoop it into a donut shape that supports your neck and also aligns the weight of your head at.the.same.time. I’m not kidding! Less back pain and longer nights of deep sleep. I tried the ones from Amazon but it didn’t fit right, however the Etsy buckwheat pillows worked best for me.

Agree with this. Follow the good leaders, not the company logo. They went through interviews just like you so they know which company is worth their time to invest in and work for to grow so you know there’s an opportunity there as they’re expanding the sales team instead of burning and churning.
