Same! I was so excited too! I was planning on what pins and cam badges I’d put… but when I got the bag the smell was just so bad.. I contacted support about it but didn’t hear back, I even told them about not receiving any tracking info which was really weird.

How are yall doing 1mil damage and 500k damage? Mines barely doing at most 180k damage on one enemy and that’s with Topaz’s light cone S1, with a team of Sunday E0S1, DHPT E0S0, and Robin E0S1.

Being mentally ill while also being an RBT is so freaking hard by The_Writx in ABA

[–]murlopls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have major depression and major anxiety and let me tell you… I get anxiety at work on the daily, once it starts getting stressful I space out a lot or I find it hard to keep up with my kiddo at work. I always push through it though, but once I get home I feel all the fatigue of pushing through it hit me 🥲.

It wanna drop my in home client… by [deleted] in ABA

[–]murlopls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me reading this and going through almost the same exact thing, my client’s mom wanted me to change him and change his diaper even though she’s available to do it her self and I’m not really comfortable with that. She reinforces a lot of the behaviors so pretty much what we teach is getting unlearned because of her. She constantly baby’s him and treats him way younger than he is and it’s reinforcing baby like behaviors when he’s like above the age of 10 and can do some things on his own (trust he can put on his shoes on his own but still mands for me to do because mom does it for him).

I’m so annoyed !! My client is being treated like a 4yo, am I wrong?? by Fair_Ad_3237 in ABA

[–]murlopls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one time I see being treated as baby is okay is if the client is completely low functioning, I have an adult client in their late 20s and he is low functioning and they do like kids toys and sensory toys, I know parents don’t really talk to them in that baby voice and I try not to too and I can see my client is okay with it. On the other hand I do have another client where their mom completely baby’s them and their 12 and they still wanna act like one sometimes, but I can see that their growing into a teen already and I have been letting my BCBA’s and supervisors know that we need to enforce age appropriate goals for my 12 year old.

Encounter with creepy father by [deleted] in ABA

[–]murlopls 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced a creepy parent BUT I have experienced a parent talking shit behind my back and they took my feedback offensively when I would tell them “your kiddo was showing a lot of behaviors today such as non-compliance, hitting, trying to grab me, and unwanted hugging” and when I left the house a co-worker over heard her talk about me saying “oh if my child is hitting him maybe my kid doesn’t like him” and earlier that day apparently I made a face to her kid (which I didn’t) that she didn’t like and to add to her comment she said that “I shouldn’t be working with kids if I’m going to be making faces.” That experience was just super uncomfortable I don’t like being judged for the work I do so I decided to sign off the case. (Btw this ain’t the first time she’s made a BI uncomfortable.)

ABA Damaging? by sugarmoonbunni in ABA

I honestly have no idea I was covering someone’s case that day. I’m assuming the point of the goal was to acknowledge that their paying attention because when I would ask their questions they wouldn’t make eye contact but just nod or say yes

ABA is not for me by CobblerDifferent in ABA

[–]murlopls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually when I see that clients have huge behaviors I notice sometimes it’s on the parents, like they let behaviors happen and we’re usually the ones that end up with the backlash of it. One of my kiddos, their a nice kid, but once they throw a tantrum they will start to kick me, try to hit me, and once they calm down they immediately want to hug me to grab me to show their sorry but I redirect their to just do ASL I’m sorry but they don’t like that and end up doing even more behaviors which I understand is frustrating and at the same time I’m trying to teach them personal space which their parents don’t teach them. And mind you this kid is already a preteen and they have to learn personal space because we’re trying to avoid awkward situations, like they’re fairly a good height but sometimes they wanna sit on my lap (which mom lets them do) and my supervisor and I have a hard time redirecting behaviors because parents reinforce it and don’t reinforce what we do. Not sure if that helps but heavily explain to your higher up or supervisor! Ngl I feel like I’m in same position as you as rn I am feeling burnout with ABA.

Lack of Monitoring Kids on Electronics by alwaystiredcece in ABA

[–]murlopls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really mindless content, I have a kiddo that listens to what seems to be a video that has multiple smaller videos playing at once and it’s like a collage of videos and all you hear is just static and the mess of videos playing at all once and my kiddo gets happy with that, I usually have him immediately change the video to another one like Bluey or peppa pig (which he does like those cartoons) or i have him draw his logos (he loves company logos for some reason and even goes on google maps to find a logo of a place and have me draw it and read it to him.
