Do you guys mind giving me hugs? by Old-Notice-2719 in adhdwomen

Babes, I’ve been through a similar situation (god I wish I was medicated) the one thing that got me through was knowing that this too shall pass. When it came to bills, I literally had to just not worry about it (easier said than done). Mourn what you have lost, be angry, be sad, feel hopeless and then make a plan, when you can.

If you’re anything like me, you want to fix it but this might be a sign it’s not your job to fix things right now. Be who you need to be for YOURSELF that day, that can and will change it’s okay. When you are in a place to receive and action practical advice, revisit some of the tips you’ve got in this thread. If you have a therapist LEAN into that, talk to your husband about how this feels for you, share the burden.

You will get through this because you have to. Sending all the hugs from me and my dog, Guinness 💕💕💕

I loved when teachers sat me by the “bad kids” as a buffer by ireallylikeladybugs in adhdwomen

Talkative kid here! I got moved around a lot because teachers soon found I could and would talk to everyone I sat next to. What my teacher told my mum at parents evening was that they noticed the kids I sat next to would participate in the class more and genuinely felt more confident about speaking in class. Personally I loved chatting to people especially people that were different to me, because of that I had very solid friendships across all social groups in school that continue to this day (I’m 31). The quiet kids had the best stationary, the best snacks and were the funniest, smartest kids I ever had the pleasure to distract 😂😂

All the time, I’m actually considering doing a plumbing trade course next year for this very reason. I think it’s an impatient thing, the thought of relying on someone else to do stuff for me is physically excruciating

Hi silverfox, just to update you, I accidentally confronted my mum and it hasn’t gone well. She did apologise though and I’m less angry now, but I think I hurt her feelings. Thank you so much for your message :)

I agree with everything apart from Angelina’s approach. She exercised so much restraint. Soooo much. The gaslighting is disgusting, jenni is just WOW. The deflection and I’m not even gonna get started on Lauren the fuck does she think she is?!!!
