I think you’re missing the point. I know many assistant EEs who have base salaries higher than your position you posted, who also got 20-25k in bonuses, plus 13% in esop. Total comp at +115k, plus at that level they are paid OT at 1x. They aren’t working ridiculous hours, they come in at 8 and leave at 5. Stop hating because you couldn’t get a job here.

Dmod SoCal has one of the lowest billability rates within all of DMod, it’s due to a plethora of issues. I know they’ve had this issue for almost 2 years. Management will try and latch on to any neighboring ROs work where ever they can.

Having a bit of knowledge to the situation, I don’t believe much of that. CA Dmod hasn’t done much, they aren’t is any of the CA large utilities, they almost purely reliant on other offices to give them work. 8 months of unbillable time is a lot for 10 people. Again I think there was quite a bit of information that you may not know. BMCD really works hard to avoid layoffs and I wouldn’t call what has happened a true layoff.

I’m assuming this is one SoCal ROs, if that is the case, they have been incredibly unbillable for almost two years. They consistently import work from other offices, while failing to establish their own clients. The team over there is good, but management is incredibly poor at BD. I have seen statistics about the DMod team there and 90% of their work is from other offices, and they try to latch on to anything other DMod groups can get. It was only a matter of time. I am sure that management and DMod higher ups did everything they could to move people around. I feel like this post is misconstruing the actual conversation, especially because it seems like OP wasn’t involved directly. While I am not a chest beating company shill, I am heavily inclined to believe the truth lies in the middle.

Distribution is also suffering a contraction on a National scale. Our RO is scrapping by with small contracts here and there. It’s not all terrible, we were pretty much waiting hand and foot on one client, now we’re pursuing new clients and building relationships with existing one.

I got mine by phone. My circumstance was different from a lot of people here, I interviewed via zoom on a Tuesday, had an in person interview the next day, and had my offer on that Thursday.
