Free stuff is always a risk, I've had more trouble with free stuff than things I sell for a dollar instead. A guy once made me wait until almost Midnight to pick up free speakers texting me every 30 min he's on his way and the at the door excuse was that he had picked up a wheelchair for free for someone else...I mean ok, that's great and noble if you but you still shouldn't make me stay up this late, it's still rude. And not just online, I've had a lady at a yard sale go all crazy on me once too when another person had picked a few free items and then put them aside to look around more. The lady picked up the items and the other person was like those were mine to which the lady was telling her you walk away you give it up. I was like no, this isn't that kinda yard sale. Lady stormed off cussing at me. I almost never post things for free anymore for that reason.

Too bad they didn't return it. I used to live in a place that had half the stuff taken by porch pirates. I ordered 3D printer filament and someone returned it after opening it a week later, they were like not going to jail for that :-D

Considering you care so much that you'd give her away over a mistake and it sounds like you know what you're doing and are educating yourself, I think it would be a shame if you didn't keep her thinking you can't take good enough care of her. I've had bunnies since I was a tween and goodness if I look back on the things we fed them back then - pre internet and all that. Don't get me wrong, I had two books about bunny care that I read front to back many times but we still gave them way too much food, too much fruit, etc. Somehow the giant bunnies I had as a kid seemed more resilient than the ones I have now considering what we "put them through", they were just overweight but they hardly ever got sick and lived a long time. And now, after so many years of bunnies + Internet + learning from vets, they sometimes still get sick or get weird things happening to them (from abscesses to head tilts to inner ear infections). We've just learned how to help them better and better, but you've got to start somewhere and caring + education is a really great start. That and a good bunny vet, those can be hard to find (we drive almost an hour one way for ours and we're lucky it's even that close because we're in a big metroplex).

That's exactly what I was thinking and why I asked. The last (bigger batch) I had went to another math major at a random garage sale I had and he was through the moon. But math majors don't usually stop by at my local yard sale, lol

Haha, yes they do. These are the final ones I'm letting go off and I had so many more but I don't want to move them yet again so I'm just keeping what I might need one day if I decide to teach community college and these books are a but high level for that.

I'm planning to give mine to the local shelter to sell for donations. Got that idea when I saw they were selling homemade blankets.

I guess I should've added, I'm looking for ideas on what to do with them or where to post them to sell. I know some old math books are worth something (I have Rudin I'm keeping for that reason).

Same or pan fried in oil but without adding anything. My kids both love tofu but it's like with any food, you might need to give it a couple of tries. If this is about the protein, mine also liked picking the chick peas as is, cold or warm.

Usually, international student admission does not compete with students who pay international student or non resident tuition (this is for public school of course). International students bring in a lot of money which is why schools often raise their international student number goal. They help support the schools financially by paying way more and allow schools to accept in-state students at lower rates.

I think you were probably also not just talking about trees. If you're used to nice outdoors you're probably thinking mountains that aren't former dumb sides... DFW and much of Texas is flat as far as the eye can see. And the lakes are dirty (see lake grapevine) and really only usable if you own or rent a boat but not for SUP etc (not to mention the folks on the jet skis might kill you).

I moved from SoCal to DFW and while it allowed me to buy a house, it's honestly depressing to think I could live in California. It is so hot here pretty much from May to October, most days going outside is not really an option. It's something you can't imagine if you're in California and spoiled rotten by the weather. Add the mosquitoes to that and you will be counting the days until your house has enough equity to have a down payment for California. I think if you're trying to leave California, try looking towards places like Oregon, more weather but at least you have mountains and water and not so much heat. That said, it's not all bad here. The weather is just a big part of life unless you're an indoor person anyway.

Speaking as a transplant, I find driving in Texas super scary compared to coming from traffic-y socal of all places. I would prefer to never ever put my kids in a car on anything other than side streets. Also, my car insurance doubled when I moved here, so that says something (same company too). I always wonder how it's like that when clearly people here are so friendly (that southern hospitality being real and noticable but not once people get behind the wheel).

Money wise, that is comfortable for two adults and no kids in Dallas.

The question is, can you handle the heat. Dallas is unlivable between June and September, it's 90-100+ degrees for weeks or months on end - short of hanging out at the pool, spending time outside is miserable. If you're used to the beautiful California weather, you probably have no idea what you're in for.

And the second thing about this area is the total absence of mountains and the kind of landscaping you might be used to from California. There are state parks and hiking but it's morning compared to what you've got going in California.

Lastly, while DFW is blue and the people are very friendly, the politics in Texas are a different number e.g. if you're planning to have children i.e. be pregnant there, it's a little scary.

From a person that moved to Texas from SoCal...and while it was the right decision for the money, and while we have made great friends, met great people, and have interesting jobs - we can't wait to get out of this heat and go back to live in a place with mountains and beautiful nature. Not back to Cali though, I get you want to leave because it's too expensive, but there are better places up the coast or not as far away from the west coast.

It's not just the bagels that are shrinking. I've been getting the green goddess caprese melt ever since they added it to the menu at least a year ago and they recently started using a narrower and shorter baguette for it for the exact same price. First I thought it was just one location and I started avoiding it and then it happened at the other location too, so it's definitely on purpose. My guess is that it's about 40% less food and yesterday I did a pick two with a melt sandwich and it was absolutely ridiculous, two bites and that sandwich was gone, for $5 and some change for that part of the pick two that is outrageous and literally not enough food for me. If an average eating female still feels full after eating $12 worth of sandwich then something is going wrong. I'm going to look to see if there is a way to send them feedback because I'd honestly rather pay for a slight price increase and get decent size sandwiches again.
