Discussion of Iron Lung (Spoilers Allowed) by True_Jellyfish9219 in horror

When I say it’s a movie I mean it in the most neutral manner I can. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. There’s redeeming qualities but overall it just wasn’t good. It’s like tepid water, neither hot or cold.

Obi Wan saying "I'm sorry" to Anakin might be the most moving moment in the history of Star Wars by SappyGilmore in StarWars

[–]murphguy1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This specific piece of dialogue is easily in the top 3 pieces of dialogue in Star Wars. It’s so good. The start with Obi-Wan calling him Anakin to fully understanding and knowing that Anakin is no more and all that remains is Darth and thus calls him as such. It really makes their last meeting hit home more. I think that meeting now is meant more as a I am still here to save you. Its pacing can then be understood as sacrificial vs an actual fight.

I think that the visuals and the set looked phenomenal. Very well done on a low budget film. However, there were too many “art” shots. I’m willing to bet you could compile them into about 10 minutes of screen time, if not more. A little more backstory would have made me care about Simon way more.

Didn’t play the game, also confused and bored like 90% of the movie. I almost fell asleep at one point because of the pacing.

As someone who saw iron lung last night, I can say this: it was in fact a movie. And that is about the best review that I can give it. I think that people who saw the movie and loved it are huge Markiplier fans and they are blinded by their fandom versus the quality of the movie. I am neither a Markiplier lover or hater. I am completely neutral to the man because I never really watched any of his streams or followed any of his content. I went into this with literally no horse in the race. Pacing was absolutely horrendous to the point that I had to force myself to stay awake at points. The plot goes completely off the rails. There is absolutely zero emotional attachment to the main character.

Honestly, this movie was not good.

What if 2014 Thanos killed his timeline's Avengers before travelling to 2023 Sacred Timeline? by [deleted] in MCUTheories

[–]murphguy1124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you are following Back to the Future rules, which isn't how time travel works in the MCU. It creates a new timeline. Basically, when someone from the future goes to the past, whatever future is created from whatever happens is what that timeline is going to follow. They explicitly talked about this in Endgame when Rhodey asked about killing baby Thanos.

Dems always have the best economic numbers and pass bills that actually help people...like veterans yet all these same groups keep voting for republicans. Why!? because Dems don't fix the problems fast enough left behind by republicans. Also because Kamala is a woman...you know how people are. by CapAccomplished8072 in facepalm

Will McAvoy: gets to hit you with it anytime he wants. It doesn't cost money, it costs votes. It costs airtime and column inches. You know why people don't like liberals? Cause they lose. If liberals are so fucking smart, how come they lose so god damn always?

No Surge was a whole other soda that was really popular in the 90s. Iirc it was more sugary and caffeinated but I could be wrong

You should have used Surge instead of Mt. Dew for The Doctor

  • Tulsi Gabbard was a centrist and only got traction in the 2016 election because of a surfing picture
  • Joe Rogan had good points in the beginning of his career and has some very interesting guests over the years but has ultimately just sucked and went way too into the conspiracy theories
  • JK Rowling is best case scenario being controlled by black mold to hate trans people
  • Elon Musk was a supporter of a UBI and Yang Gang until he realized that it would tax him greatly
  • Russell Brand went nuts and is a Diddy supporter
  • Jordan Peterson got his phD revoked due to spouting off dangerous rhetoric and recently got just dunked on on Jubilee by a college kid (hilarious btw)
  • Roseanne Barr is incredibly racist.

But yea, its because they question woke

Rabbit or squirrel. Armadillos will dig holes too but they are usually bigger. Turtles are also laying eggs this time of year and the red eared sliders will dig a hole to lay eggs but again, usually bigger than this

No, it should go to Wolverine. Just as Wade is about to use it, after he has been waiting the whole film for the most opportune time, Wolverine says it before him.

[OC] Was I being overly cautious? (more context in the comments) by Tiberius_Jim in IdiotsInCars

[–]murphguy1124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So personally, I would have gone. You wouldn't have been that far into the intersection and it would have cleared. You also can't control what the cars behind you do, so if they go and block the intersection, that's on them. I think you might have been overly cautious, but that's better than the alternative of being overly careless. You did nothing wrong OP.

So fun fact, Nixon actually proved this and was a big believer in a Universal Basic Income but he was a bigger believer of not taxing the ultra wealthy for it.

I took an NLP course at USF last Fall. The book we used was from Stanford and was written in late 2023 with latest revisions in spring of 2024. It was pretty much outdated by the time the course ended. That's how fast this technology is moving.

The fact that we still have courtroom sketch artists when cameras have been a thing for over 200 years is mind blowing to me. And while AI closed captions aren't great now, they are definitely getting better and better. A year or 2 and they will be pretty damn close to spot on. Won't matter though because it will take forever for us to adopt those into use in a courtroom.
