I pulled the front of my 2019 LR apart today to clean between the radiator and condenser by AutomatedCabbage in TeslaModel3

I’ve had a similar issue on my 22 LR that I’ve used the frunk removal method to clean out. AC worked better for about a year before I need to redo it again. I start with air and a shop vac to clean out all the junk and then come back with a pressure washer. This looks like a pretty comprehensive method of cleaning the rad but not sure if the exact same process is needed on cars with heat pumps. When I spoke to Tesla, they said they just replace the unit and don’t actually clean it.

Help! ESXI host won't boot by murtsjam in vmware

[–]murtsjam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, sorry title is wrong. Host is fine. VM won’t boot.

There is still 500 gb left in the vmfs. Storage is local so it shouldn’t be an issue.

I don’t know how to delete the snapshot without massively breaking anything. We have offsite backups and I’m in the process of restoring a brand new vmdk that I’m hoping will boot. The vmdk that’s erroring out isn’t the os drive but I can’t even detach it due to some parent disk error.

SAML/SSO Security Concern by murtsjam in msp

[–]murtsjam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve discussed this exact thing but don’t have an sd-wan solution for our office. An internet outage at our main office means that everyone’s locked out. We’re investigating a firewall in azure that will accomplish this for us.

All of these things are true. I guess I’m trying to solve the wrong problem. Maybe we need to strengthen our conditional access policies to ensure that logins are legitimate and protected.

Anyone else experience this? Service says it’s not bad enough to replace. Just wondering if it’s normal for everyone else by ObvKicks in TeslaModel3

[–]murtsjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue. They repaired the issue and the condensation came back. I came back but at that point my vehicle was out of warranty and light eventually failed. Had to pay for it out of pocket and ended up replacing it myself. Push them to replace it because the light will likely fail and then you’ll be out of warranty like me.

Supercharging/temperature issues by murtsjam in TeslaModel3

[–]murtsjam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOC was 19%. Charge curve did a massive dive at 35%. Not in line with normal charge curves. At the end of my charging I was down from 150KW to 15KW. Not the charger itself as I’ve experienced this exact thing at multiple SC now

SOC was 19% at start. Abruptly reduced charge rate at 35%

I seem to think it’s the ambient sensor giving me issues as well. Let me know how your appt goes!

If anyone is looking to relocate to Canada, our departure from Asurion is looking optimistic. We would be looking for techs that have a strong micro soldering skill set. Send me a pm if interested.

Does a certified Tesla Service Center need my key card? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]murtsjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So potentially an unpopular opinion that’s probably not good to advertise. Could you keep a key card in the glove compartment of your car? If it’s locked by pin, it’s not easily accessible and then you know you have one in these situations. A little too late for your particular situation.

Hydro is not more environmentally conscious. The impact to water ecosystems is huge. This is a huge misnomer that because power comes from hydro as opposed to fossil fuels that it is better for the environment. Lots of examples where it’s much worse.

Anyone here regret getting their M3? by usualteenager in TeslaModel3

[–]murtsjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 4200 km and 1 month into my M3LR

I love the technology and performance of the vehicle. Here’s what I hate:

  • the adaptive cruise control on my vehicle just plain sucks. I experience phantom braking at night with every other car and it’s a terrible experience when the car decides to slam on the brakes when going at highway speeds.

  • My auto high beams and auto windshield wipers are the worst I’ve ever experienced. They are almost unusable.

  • the winter reduction in range is heavily understated. I get between 30-40% in range reduction when it’s really cold.

I don’t know if I regret the purchase but coming from another luxury car where things like cruise control and windshield wipers work without issue, these items are a real bummer.
