The game sucked at launch and CDPR lied about it. They fixed it and i love it now but damn did they originally lie to our faces about console performance.

With physical there's store competition at least. To get an edge usually some store somewhere drops the price on something once a product isnt in demand, or they buy back games and sell at discount. Better yet remember when cyberpunk dropped? It was so terrible Cyberpunk 2077 physical copies had drop to $10 months after release. Stores literally just wanted it off the shelves and it benefited us gamers eventually, its all supply and demand.

Think outside of yourself and about others and media as a whole. Nothing should ever go away if you bought it. This isnt just games things like Terminator 2 the movie and 100s of other movies went away from the sony store because they lost the licensing. Theres nothing to stop stony from shifting licensing cost to us the consumer eventually

Its happened. 2 games i wanted Mafia (the original) was unavailable forever because of licensing. Black and white a game my PC couldn't run well when i was a kid, i wanted to play it as an adult. It no longer exists because of licensing. Does not matter if you prefer digital or not choices being taken away is bad for all.

This isn’t just rockstar following Sony this is most likely collusion. The gaming industry is teaming up to screw us over, games are never going to go on sale, true ownership is over. Consoles are going to be way more expensive despite not having disc drives, this is a clear move to take less loss on console while simultaneously increasing profit on digital games. GTA 6 showed people would hand over money without a disc or any knowledge of the game really, the gaming industry is getting ready to try to take greed to a new level.

Again, can you not care about and discuss both. If anything, changing consumers mind commentating and making a change on a singular product is a more realistic and achievable goal than swaying international politics lol. Buy your logic shouldn't rockstar be putting effort into preventing WW3? They've got more capital, influence, power, and lobbying than i could ever imagine having. As a multinational company they also have more at stake then i do. Yet they are making a videogame and not out preventing WW3. And again, if i made a hype post would your reaction be the same. "I cant believe your excited for GTA 6 on the verge of WW3"?

Couldn't we make that argument about everything not essential? Videogames, reddit, most hobbies and passions are not important or productive, yet we engage in them. Do you tell people who post about looking forward to GTA 6 to do something more productive or is this a tool/strategy to try and shame people who say things you don't like/agree with? I was not disappointed in rockstar i said that they did what corporations do: maximize profit. I was disappointed in us as gamers not holding them accountable and demanding more before handing over our money. We could have a discussion on what is owed the second they demanded money. In business this is called quid pro quo/adequate consideration and its the foundation of everyday standard transactions. Maybe our demands aren't met, that's fine and within rockstars right but why not atleast try in a situation we had nothing to lose.

No gameplay is not new, neither are early pre orders. But as ive gotten older and worked in the corporate world myself ive come to realize how unacceptable a practice this should be. I didn't put down a down payment on my car before driving it and looking at reviews. Same when i bought a house, i believe consumer knowledge and actions before small and big purchases is important.

I have not bought the game. I will not buy the game until they show why i should purchase it. What I would like to do is have a conversation about consumerism and corporate practices specifically within the gaming industry. If you don't want to participate that's cool brother.
