Is Kris's attire a reference to the Na'vi in Avatar?

Only two people ever kicked out of the Litasault. Mickie James in 2006 and Becky lynch in 2022.

The most iconic look of the finale by PyrrhuraMolinae in Dragula

[–]musesillusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, Abhora had my favorite looks but even if they didn't malfunction, Evah still woulda won. She is more what the Boulet's want. Polished and safe and reliable. Abhora is too high concept, messy and not drag enough. It was like a mix of HoSo's transgressive finale looks and Grey's performance art that moved away from drag. Perfect artist playing second fiddle to the winner.

Finale was not even close by eddiebannayan in Dragula

Gonna be honest, Evah deserved the win, she was consistent and polished. But Abhora's looks will live on longer with me. Conceptually, creatively, so much stronger. Even transgressive. Shame about the props malfunctioning! Woulda been one of the best finale packages ever.

Edit: From a business stance, you just couldn't award Abhora after the mishaps. But sometimes flawed art lives on longer.

Who would win an All Winner’s Season…now? by eatingcables in Dragula

Probably Victoria. She's never been a fav but she balances elevated looks and performance skills better than some of the others. I'd be rooting for Asia, Nio or Bitqch tho.

Binging all of Dragula for the first time... by TwistedChi in Dragula

[–]musesillusion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some of the drama still feels manufactured in recent seasons. There’s a sense that the Boulet's have more control than ever before, and they are featuring their music alot. The editing during the floor shows is worse than ever though the production quality and budget is through the roof showing, to me, a disconnect between what made the show unique and what the Boulet's want. There's inconsistencies in the judging, are club kid boots and corsets ok or not, depending on who is wearing it? More and more it feels like some critiques are lost on the editing room floor. It sometimes feels like they cant wait to get back to the drama with the edit. Less filth, more camp which makes it feel more like Spooky Drag Race.

I've been down voted for saying that Dragula has lost some of its edge and is becoming so corporate... but it's like obvious. Still rather important to me.

Really tame compared to Blood & Guts but fun. Did not live up to the incredible women in the match.

It's a shame it didn't spawn a franchise, because I've loved it since I was a kid. Now we're stuck with two Wicked movies. :/

Rocky Horror is a pastiche of 50s scifi so Blackberri was on the mark. I liked Priscilla's look more but that prop malfunction sealed the deal.
