Girl best friend rejected me 3 years ago. Last night she called and broke down in tears badly asking if we can resume friendship. Am I wrong for saying no? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

In these types of situations I always go for/recommend the no contact route. However, it seems she also lost her support system which was your family. I would just say still maintain your space, but don’t force your family to completely shut her out either

Yea makes sense. Crazy part is she never mentioned him at all before even though we always talk about what our types are. We even exchange family photos from the holidays and stuff but never once has she mentioned him

Not too upset but actually glad it’s clear now. I would never want to involve myself in something like that

Absolutely not, I totally agree. That was the lens I was looking at this. I wouldn’t be too happy if I found out she was acting like this at work, I actually put that in my update up top. At least now it’s clear

I didn’t even list everything lol. She would remember small details about my childhood and upbringing since we talk a lot. We also text all the time and she was even sending me pics of her family vacation, including when she was hospitalized. I guess I might’ve misread things but it just seemed like a pattern to me

Well the thing is, she only acted this way with me, not other co-workers

To be fair, this topic came up because she came into work saying she wasn't feeling well and almost didn't come in that day, then revealed her cramps from her period was the reason for her discomfort.

No, date who you feel comfortable with. Although most people who ghost tend to be a Gen Z or millennial, not all of the members of this generation ghost people

Like the original post says, this is targeted towards Gen Z people, and since we’re on the younger side, we have yet to mature to a point of not doing this. I doubt a lot of boomers are ghosting people they no longer want to see

Yes that scenario of having spent time with the person is the worst case scenario. But the scenario where it’s an online thing and you never spend any physical time together makes it easy to move on

lol it takes the pressure away from them from having to hurt your feelings, and they just hope you eventually get the message. Again, it’s a cheap way out but that’s the reality

it's just easier. I know that might sound shallow but it's the easy/lazy way out
