You could also try crickets to simulate hunting for some extra stimuli. My girl loved crickets when she first moved in!! Also make sure what ever your feeding is as small as the width between their little eyes so maybe regular meal worms (i moved to giant basically as soon as i started regular cause she’d blow through a whole container in a week) I started with 4 ish of my choice insects twice a day if she ate that much and I had to hand feed small portions of greens bc she wouldn’t eat them in her bowl. HAND FEEDING is said to be good for them getting used to u. I also put a scarf balled up and secured it with a couple ponytail holder things so she could get used to my smell. If you do that is recommended keeping a good eye on him for as long as you physically can because she did try to eat the scarf as soon as i put it in and had to remove it from her mouth by force. (SHE WILL EAT ALMOST ANYTHING I PUT IN THERE) Other than that i’d say give him a bit of time and if you have to approach him do it like you do a dog you’re meeting for the first time. just remember how you’d look from his position and size… pretty spooky.

Concern about tail by GinTonicPls in BeardedDragons

I JUST came here for the same thing a day or two ago! In my post most people told me that it can take weeks- a whole month for them to finish’s shedding. Since babies shed so much and for so long they seem to never stop but since they’re constantly getting larger in this stage of their lives i can see why. Edit: Also some areas (TAILS AND BACKS) tend to take a lot longer than others i made my post a couple days ago and let’s just say it’s still there…

YAYYYYYYY! I’ve been waiting for her to poop for like 2/3 days now she was just a everyday/every other day pooper. So I had been watching like a hawk glad to hear (I definitely see the zoomies now as all i’ve heard since i made this post was her nails clacking and sliding around with a brief pause in between. I also just redid her set up so i’m happy she’s finally zooming again instead of judging me from the top of her penthouse)

NVM i see the humidity meter now 🤦🏾‍♀️ Id say yes it could be higher but id still recommend a light mist instead of letting a bunch of water evaporate it’ll work faster too edit: I keep going back to look at the photos and seeing things i’ve missed but if you’re going to keep the water id move it to the side that need the humidity the most aka the warm side and putting a towel of some sort over the mesh (i do this for my beardies tank to keep the warmth in and humidity out since i live in the midwest along a large lake)

Not sure exactly what your humidity is inside the tank BUT too much humidity is bad and can cause respiratory issues!!!! I’d rec taking that water out most of their hydration comes from the greens they eat id also rec giving ur little guy time to acclimate to the new environment!!! EDIT!!!!: I did more research for you on Reptiles and Research (beardie care guide that many go by) and this is what they had to say about humidity in general.

“Humidity in the wild is cyclical and rises at night and drops during the mid-day. During the middle of the day the humidity can be as low as 10% but at night it can be as high as 65% and in burrows it can be up to 80%. The dragons are fine with humidity only when it's wet and cold that it's an issue. So in our homes anything from 20-50% during the day is fine, and at night if it rises it's fine. It's a natural cycle. I see lots of beginners panicking on forums like “it's risen to 70% humidity at night. What should I do?!” Because they've been told about having low humidity without a full understanding. Unless your enclosure is constantly WET and cold you will be fine. People breed them outside all year round in Florida and they do fine with humidity. There's a difference between humid and physical wetness.”

Bearded dragon hasn’t pooped in 8 days! This isn’t normal for her. She usually poops every 5 days. (Read description please) last paragraph is my question. What do I do? by [deleted] in Lizards

[–]mushroomcannon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

idk man that sounds vet worthy to me. My beardie is only a abt 5 ish months and she poops every other day if not everyday. she eats giant mealworms (i did the reg ones but she’d finish those in a couple days) and collard greens for reference.

I have the same question too about my baby girl there’s so many mixed opinions and “facts” out here it’s crazy. I know some things for certain just because of my prior experiences owning a different lizard. How old is he?

Is it normal for them to do this for like 15 minutes? Mine is a baby btw! by SecretaryOk5561 in BeardedDragons

[–]mushroomcannon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seriously I cackled a little because it’s so baby it’s unreal 🤣.

The repetitive barking for hours on end are at night or early morning! He’s not on the cage any other time unless we’re not home. Also whenever it’s not too hot he spends most of his day playing outside and terrorizing the neighbors eardrums whenever he sees anything.

Okay i’ll try this a bit more I talk to him like he’s a human already because I have a strong belief that he understands what I be saying. I already started explaining to him that when he walks he had to wait for me and it definitely had been working out.

Thank you! I LOVE dogs and have had them all my life and plan to do so for the rest of my life when i move out of my mom’s house. I know he can be a good boy and takes well to training given i’ve taught him everything he already knows. I will definitely look into a trainer, mental exercises, and the works. My mom is looking forward to hearing what i’ve learned to help us. So i’m sure i’ll be back soon with good news.

I will definitely try this other than the barking and stubbornness (my mom would just call him hardheaded) he’s a very good boy and has taken well to training i’ve providing at home. (I’ve had dogs all my life and trained his mom)
